Mad Slammer Posted July 28, 2006 Posted July 28, 2006 Well, I can't remember why I started collecting 1966 GM cars. . . Maybe there's a reason for that; don't you think. . .
VW Dave Posted July 28, 2006 Posted July 28, 2006 I was born the same year that this 4-4-2 paced Indy. A week before Santa shows up this year, I'll be 36.
Jairus Posted July 28, 2006 Posted July 28, 2006 None of your business!!!!!! Or at least that would be the answer if I could remember.....
FirePig Posted July 28, 2006 Posted July 28, 2006 Well, this was new ... And this was how you 'instant messaged' if the party line was already in use ... And the visionaries were convinced this was going to be in everybody's garage by 1960 ...
FuelishSpectator Posted July 28, 2006 Posted July 28, 2006 Just think that back in 1959 Chris Karamesines (The Golden Greek) was running Top Fuel and below is a snip-it from drag list website. He still occasionally run at selected NHRA event today. That would be 47 + years of driving Top Fuel. A un-sung hero Fuelish
Schumacher330 Posted July 28, 2006 Posted July 28, 2006 I'm 34 and share a birthday with one of my favorite guitarists, Noodles from the Offspring.

But my birthday is in October so I guess the '62's were starting to hit the road? These were probably rolling off the assembly line when I was born, about a month before you were.
Jairus Posted July 28, 2006 Posted July 28, 2006 Hehehe, Bill, your so funny! Ok then riddle me this: What is your favorite color? What is your quest....ah, wait a min. That's from a movie..... Ok, the year I was born, Ford discontinued production of the Edsel. Hawaii became the 50th state. (Don't help him Gregg!)
Marc @ MPC Motorsports Posted July 28, 2006 Posted July 28, 2006 "Big Daddy" Don Garlits was burning up the strip in this legendary Swamp Rat the year I was born. For those of you who aren't up on your drag racing history that would be 1960... which makes me 46. Enjoy!!!
MrObsessive Posted July 28, 2006 Posted July 28, 2006 These were probably rolling off the assembly line when I was born, about a month before you were. That's what makes us September/October babies so special! We get not one, but TWO choices as to what is a "new" car!
MrObsessive Posted July 28, 2006 Posted July 28, 2006 Ok, the year I was born, Ford discontinued production of the Edsel. Hawaii became the 50th state. (Don't help him Gregg!) Whaaaa?? Ford stop makin' the Edsel?? Hawaii's now part of the US???

Bruce Poage Posted July 30, 2006 Posted July 30, 2006 Age doesn't matter. I am 62 and been modelling since age 14. I just returned from my local Michaels Grand Opening with a new kit. Never too old for more plastic. I plan to live a long time to justify to my wife the purchase of those 125 kits in my stash. Have fun! Bruce in Topeka
Bill Riblett Posted July 31, 2006 Posted July 31, 2006 At least for sale to the public...... Age doesn't matter. I am 62 and been modelling since age 14. I just returned from my local Michaels Grand Opening with a new kit. Never too old for more plastic. I plan to live a long time to justify to my wife the purchase of those 125 kits in my stash. Have fun! Bruce in Topeka I like your attitude (and apparently share your birth year).
