gman Posted July 27, 2015 Posted July 27, 2015 Nice job- beautiful wood tones. Which paint did you use on the bodywork?
JTRACING Posted July 27, 2015 Author Posted July 27, 2015 Thanks, I used krylon burgundy, the primer/paint in one can, spray can.
wayne swayze Posted July 27, 2015 Posted July 27, 2015 Wow! What a great looking Merc! I'll stay tuned.
Atmobil Posted July 27, 2015 Posted July 27, 2015 Fantastic looking body, can't wait to see the rest of it
vintagercr Posted July 27, 2015 Posted July 27, 2015 James, that looks great! Where did you get the punch?
JTRACING Posted July 27, 2015 Author Posted July 27, 2015 James, that looks great! Where did you get the punch?thanks! Found a cheap set on Amazon, not the best but good enough until I can afford better
Foxer Posted July 27, 2015 Posted July 27, 2015 Your wood looks fantastic! The grain is just right for scale and the tones beautiful together. I'm going for a more worn out look on my rendition but yours is something to shoot for.
khier Posted July 27, 2015 Posted July 27, 2015 (edited) I love the wood finish and the rivets, but the black wash is somewhat heavy IMHO. Edited July 27, 2015 by khier
SoCalCarCulture Posted July 27, 2015 Posted July 27, 2015 Outlining the wood in black kinda kills the look for me.
mike 51 Posted July 27, 2015 Posted July 27, 2015 Outlining the wood in black kinda kills the look for me.yep..looks great otherwise.
cobraman Posted July 27, 2015 Posted July 27, 2015 Love your paint work but perhaps the black outlining is a tad over done. That being said I could not do better. : )
JTRACING Posted July 29, 2015 Author Posted July 29, 2015 thanks guys, I guess the outlining is just my personal preference. i like the look it brings anyhow little update started to add some weathering and such
crazyrichard Posted July 29, 2015 Posted July 29, 2015 i love it !! stunning .. perasonally i would have done the black lines a tad less dark ...but thats taste some swear by the look .. but that said it liiks stunning !!
Sledsel Posted July 29, 2015 Posted July 29, 2015 It sure looks nice, Cannot wait to see it done. The body looks better than than coupe. Wish they had fixed the windshield and added a flathead from another kit.tho.
DRIPTROIT 71 Posted August 2, 2015 Posted August 2, 2015 You are truly an artist!!! The wood is incredible!!!!
Dominik Posted August 4, 2015 Posted August 4, 2015 It has an interesting look...but the black wash is to heavy in my view. sure, lets wait when your work is done. And sure, it is your model, you're building
