Stingray wes Posted August 16, 2015 Posted August 16, 2015 Love looking at everyone's work here! My work for the last couple of weeks has been building a workshop in my garage so I can get back into this hobby that I've been out of for about 20 years. Wish me me luck on a quick finish so I can get something going on the workbench!
disabled modeler Posted August 16, 2015 Posted August 16, 2015 I would not know what to do with that much room....nice. welcome.
Stingray wes Posted August 16, 2015 Author Posted August 16, 2015 Thanks for the comments guys, I'm looking forward to it!
DrKerry Posted August 16, 2015 Posted August 16, 2015 Hey, done yet???? LOL. Awesome space though. I think I have about a sixth of that, not even.
slusher Posted August 16, 2015 Posted August 16, 2015 Nice big work area. You will have plenty of space...
Stingray wes Posted August 16, 2015 Author Posted August 16, 2015 It's a 19' x 10' but not all of it will be for model building. Prob 10' x 10' of it will be model area with the remaining space being a general work area with 1:1 tool boxes, bolt and nut storage hand tools etc....you get the picture. Laid that garage floor paint down yesterday......makes a world of difference. Hope to finish framing today. Thanks for all the comments....seems like a great group of people on here!
Crazy Ed Posted August 16, 2015 Posted August 16, 2015 Really nice space you've got there. Hope you've got a Vent for your Paint Booth in the plans and a return Fresh Air for the Shop and You.
Stingray wes Posted August 16, 2015 Author Posted August 16, 2015 Hey Michael, definitely have a spot in mind for a heater....can't handle the cold!! Would be ok with me if I never needed another heater!!Ed - thanks for the reminder on the fresh air intake..I have the vent under control but havent put a lot of thought into the circulation of fresh air. Thanks for the comments guys.
John Clutch Posted August 16, 2015 Posted August 16, 2015 Good luck! I know this will take some time to get everything set up where you want it.

You're doing the same thing I did 3 1/2 years ago in my basement. After trying to build in an open basement, I gave up and framed in a shop. Mine is 12 x 20. You'll be so glad when you're done.
vintagercr Posted August 17, 2015 Posted August 17, 2015 It looks like you will have a nice workspace once it's finished.
Stingray wes Posted August 17, 2015 Author Posted August 17, 2015 Thanks guys, I appreciate all the comments. I'll be sure to get some pics up when I'm finished. I was able to finish all the framing yesterday. It's moving along.
