This was a learning experience for me. I just got back into building after about an 11-12 year break. Let me be the first to say this truck has several flaws, but I enjoyed the build.

This truck was inspired by the Apollo 116 built by Sean ("Old Buckaroo") and a story with pictures of an Apollo 92 with a IH style sleeper that was on Hank's Truck Forum. The hood was shortened, the doors opened, the interior is scratch built other than the dash and seats, sleeper is from the 4300, 8v-71 is courtesy of the Titan kit, front wheels are Auslowe, and a lot from the parts box.

Lookin good Brian! How did you do the popcorn cup? Is this one gonna be some of my competition at Salisbury? (Wink wink)

On the popcorn cup, I found an image on Google of a container that was broken down. I inserted it into a word program and made it the size that I wanted. That is how I did the Dorito bags, the box of HoHos, the magazines, and even the mud flaps.

As far as competition, this truck has a lot of flaws, you have no worries.

Thanks for the comments guys!!...Brian

Flaws?!?! Dude, your sellin yourself short. You have some awesome details, some great custom work, all into a great lookin truck. I don't think my builds would stand a chance to this.

Amazing details..Thats an amazing comeback to building

I've built a couple in the past year, but had stopped while my boys were small. Thanks for the encouragement Dave!

Brian, this is not only kit-assembling, this is true modeling. Great detailing brings this usually not very interesting kit to life. The colour is spot-on.

Thanks Jurgen, It's not perfect, I got discouraged a couple of times, but all in all I enjoyed the build.

Thanks for the encouragement JT. If it had not been for the encouragement of the folks on this forum, I probably would have never started this build.

And thanks to everyone who has commented during this build and after completion!!!

Like Clayton said: "don't sell yourself short"! I think everyone who has followed this has learned something that they can apply to their own builds. Great work Brian.

Its got all the old skool stuff... fuel, tax numbers and plates, Nice memory lane build.

I like to build period type trucks that would have been found in the 70s and early 80s. Those are my favorite.
