thatz4u Posted September 21, 2015 Author Posted September 21, 2015 Thanks, Carl, I would like to find a 70 AMX to go with it...
Jantrix Posted September 21, 2015 Posted September 21, 2015 Looking good Al. A black wash in the grill would make that front stand out though.
thatz4u Posted September 21, 2015 Author Posted September 21, 2015 I'll have to try that on an old grille first till I get used to working with it, thanks Rob.
JTalmage Posted September 21, 2015 Posted September 21, 2015 I'd love to find a '69 AMX to make a replica of my dad's car that he wished he never sold.
thatz4u Posted September 21, 2015 Author Posted September 21, 2015 try looking at model car shows & swap meets, that's how I found this one
Snake45 Posted September 22, 2015 Posted September 22, 2015 (edited) Very nice, and congrats on a great rescue! May I offer a suggestion? A little semigloss black and flat steel paint in the grille/headlight area will really bring it to life. Before (red) and after (blue). Edited September 22, 2015 by Snake45
thatz4u Posted September 22, 2015 Author Posted September 22, 2015 (edited) thanks for the kind words guys. Snake, thanks for the detailing tip, I did put clear lenses on the kits flat headlights, they don't show well in photo Edited September 22, 2015 by thatz4u
dimaxion Posted September 22, 2015 Posted September 22, 2015 AMC AMX , I like it . Great build . I am a purist , though you already know this , as the Wheels detract from this IMHO . Underrated as these still are .. Did you ever ride or drive one ? I regret NOT owning more AMC's . Instead ; '60 Corvair - '65 Buick Special - '72 Pontiac LeMans - '77 Pontiac Astra '87 Pontiac Pheonix . Questions ?? I admire this and thank you ..
thatz4u Posted September 22, 2015 Author Posted September 22, 2015 John, I have driven an AMX, as well as owning a Pacer, I used the wheels I had in the parts box..
Danno Posted September 23, 2015 Posted September 23, 2015 What Snake said. Nice. Lots of potential to be nicer.
thatz4u Posted September 23, 2015 Author Posted September 23, 2015 my first restoration of an older kit, more detail on the next rebuild
