bonehead23 Posted September 28, 2015 Posted September 28, 2015 (edited) I used a 427 Ford mill, Midget Racer nose, 1970 Chevelle headers, and a few other bits and scratched parts,. I intended to paint it pearl white, but decided on Orange instead, to jive better with all the Tangerine running gear and interior. The top is an AMT unit and it was already blue so the stripes make sense...sorta..... Edited January 15, 2016 by bonehead23
rmvw guy Posted September 28, 2015 Posted September 28, 2015 Very cool! Lots of options on this one with kit bashing. Got to pick up a few.
Cato Posted September 29, 2015 Posted September 29, 2015 For your next build; A 427 has a front mounted distributor.
blunc Posted September 29, 2015 Posted September 29, 2015 For your next build; A 427 has a front mounted distributor. careful there...this almost looks like a rivet. but seriously, GM did make a "427"... however, most persons familiar with that version of 427 wouldn't instantly recognize it in your fine and colorful build.
bonehead23 Posted September 29, 2015 Author Posted September 29, 2015 For your next build; A 427 has a front mounted distributor.I did know that, as i have a friend who is TOTALLY Ford...but the Revell Parts Pack engine has...yup, you guessed it, the distributor in the rear!!! So that is how it panned out.

bobthehobbyguy Posted September 29, 2015 Posted September 29, 2015 Nice work on the 29. Looking forward to seeing your plans for other builds.Side note the Revell parts packs are from the mid 60s. Just goes to show they didn't get everything right then either.
Harry P. Posted September 29, 2015 Posted September 29, 2015 Wow... that's a whole lot of engine for such a tiny car!
Bernard Kron Posted September 30, 2015 Posted September 30, 2015 (edited) This combination actually works quite well, big engine and all. The strong colors and graphics are certainly an important part of the effect. Very cool! I must remember the Revell midget nose cone for these, since it scales so much better that the one than comes with the venerable Revellogram Rat Rod kits... Edited October 1, 2015 by Bernard Kron
Tom Geiger Posted October 1, 2015 Posted October 1, 2015 That does look cool with the track nose on it. I'll have to do that on my next one!
