This will be very interesting to follow as I've missed your builds. That engine looks very good already, super nice work scratchbuilding those parts. You make it look so easy but I know it definitely is not. I can't wait to see more.

Looks very sweet!

Can you share what tools you have such as milling machine and lathe?

Clayton Harris ran a narrow rear end dragster in the mid 70's. I don't remember how well it ran.

Mike... Dave Has a really nice full size machine he does his machining on. He does some kick A$$ work for sure.

Dave, I know what your work table looks like so I didn't have to do the typical double take to know that your hubs are for the new model dragster you're making.  BUT....I am certain there will be many others that won't be able to tell the difference.  They're outstanding.  I did visit your photobucket site again and recommend others do the same to see some really amazing things.   The headers on your 1:1 37' Chevy are just sexy.  More curves than any kardashian.  I've asked before and bears repeating.....is there anything you CAN'T do?  (I already know the answer)  Cheers!

Wow doesn't even cover it. Dave - you are the machining master and I'm really stoked you're back to the bench. You certainly haven't lost your touch. I sit here in the front row with my popcorn and note pad.

BTW - your 1:1 is a real beauty. Have you built a scale model of that yet?

You two have a great time and try not to show off. Oh, wait, we're model builders. Never mind..........

Dave, that looks as real as real can be, assembled or not.

Just incredible Dave . You have that vision to see whats not there yet . Not many have it .

Can't wait to see those wheels .     Jeff.

one step forward...two back. pretty much describes my model building since last time. made some drawings of my wheels. since i had no real wheels to copy i did the best i could with photos. the first wheel i realized what i drew was off. so i revised the drawing and started #2. i managed to reverse a dimension and take the center out of the wheel. so. i finished anyway and i think with some new aluminum slugs i'll have what i want. not everything goes like clock work.

holes , radius in the wheel and the scallops at the beadlock are wrong. geez, is there anything right?

DSCN7171_zps3dgenrcg.jpg

redid some dimensions and then took the center out. duh!!! BUT, i am happier with the wheel in general.

DSCN7172_zpsnl9u82fw.jpg

i decided to make the cover on the top loader a carbon cover.....only to find out i made the rotors the wrong diameter. 10" instead of 11". will nothing go right this weekend?

last but not least. tim thought i should take a shot of the carbs from the top to show the venturi booster detail. so.....here ya go. blame tim if you don't like them. hehe.

Mistakes, smishtakes. It's all good from my point of view Dave.

And Tim was right. You needed to show us those venturi's in the carb because we would have had a hard time believing him otherwise.

Sheesh, even on a bad day you have great results. Now go bang your head against a wall to recalibrate your cerebral cortex and get back to it.

Don't ya' just wanna kiss the folks that came up with carbon fiber?
