ss2000 Posted October 3, 2015 Posted October 3, 2015 I see on Round 2's site that the old Pyro tool 1/32 kits now have rubber tires listed in the kit description. Can anybody confirm? Thanks.
blunc Posted October 3, 2015 Posted October 3, 2015 I think this is going to be "hit or miss", I have the '25 T street rod and it has wheels that are all plastic wheel/tire molded together like the original LifeLike/Pyro kits. This kit has no chrome parts. The 1915 Model T Coupelet has separate rubber (or vinyl) tires and plastic wheels and has chome plated parts. Most of the "Classic" series of Lindberg kits had separate tires with plastic wheels.I think all of the "Collectors" series of kits had all plastic wheel/tire halves. So, most likely, if the re-pops are from the Collectors series of kits there won't be rubber tires or plated parts in the box.
Sledsel Posted October 4, 2015 Posted October 4, 2015 Off topic, but on topic....... whats a good source for 1/32 wheels and tires? I have all these kits partially done, but want to upgrade the rolling stock.
Earl Marischal Posted October 4, 2015 Posted October 4, 2015 How about using 1/32 scale slot car wheels and tyres? These can be bought as spares for the likes of Scalextric models. Also stuff like mirrors.http://www.scalextric.com/uk-en/pit-lane/spares-accessories.htmlsteve
blunc Posted October 6, 2015 Posted October 6, 2015 Earl/Steve is correct, slot car parts can be had fairly easy if you don't mind shopping on the interwebs, if you have to see it with your hands then you have to have a local slot car track/hobby shop that carries slot car parts.I upgraded the wheels on my 1/32 scale 34 Ford with slot car wheels, keep in mind you may be paying more for the wheels than you did for the kit you will be putting them on.I recently acquired some "steel" style rim/wheels for future projects. They look real good and should polish well.
Richard Bartrop Posted October 6, 2015 Posted October 6, 2015 The 1/32 1915 Ford is one of Pyro's Vintage Brass kits, and those were very nice. They put a few larger scale kits to shame.

I have all these kits partially done, but want to upgrade the rolling stock.I got some nice tires and wheels made by Le Mans Miniatures for slot cars; in my case, I got excellent piano wire wheels for the very good 1/32 Bugatti T59 kits by Pyro and AMT. This source has a few, but look around at various slot car parts suppliers:http://www.ncphobbies.com/slot-cars-1/32/ Edited October 8, 2015 by sjordan2
