jefropas Posted November 11, 2015 Posted November 11, 2015 Just curious if anyone knows, since Revell is pretty quiet of late and I don't think twisting Ed's arm worked.... Jeff
Joe Handley Posted November 11, 2015 Posted November 11, 2015 It's been reissued as Dom's Charger with the Fast and Furious licensing in the last decade or so.

Mark Posted November 11, 2015 Posted November 11, 2015 That's what it is now. Over the years, it was the '68, '69, and '70 (promos, kits, and funny car bodies), Daytona NASCAR in two versions (early #71 kits had the '70 door "scoops"), the General Lee (pre-Round 2 issues had the 500/Daytona flush rear window), stock 500, stock Daytona, F&F '70, and General Lee again. Millions of Charger bodies from one tool.
iangilly Posted November 12, 2015 Posted November 12, 2015 I doubt round 2 will be the one's to release a 70 charger, especially with how worn out that mold is. Revell would be the one , since they already related a 70 charger in diecast back in 2001 as "doms charger" . It was like a 69 rear mixed with a 70 front end.

The '68 is the one with a pair of dual round taillights. I bought the '70 promo in '74 for a whopping $4.00.

I bought the '70 promo in '74 for a whopping $4.00.Just to amplify a bit, the basic rear tailamp design is shared between the '69 and '70, but the moldings around the tailamps are slighlty different. Doing this from memory (as I was a huge Charger fan when they were new), but some Google Image searches should confirm the slight differences for '70. TIM
Brett Barrow Posted November 12, 2015 Posted November 12, 2015 I'm 99.99% sure Revell is working on a F&F Dom's Charger in plastic. Whether it will be based on the 68-69 plastic kit tooling or the F&F die cast tooling, I don't know. And no idea if it will be buildable as a stock 70 R/T, the movie car lacks the door scoops and has a custom grille among other changes. The big honking blower sticking out of the hood for one.
JTalmage Posted November 12, 2015 Posted November 12, 2015 If they are, it will probably come out in a "special edition" box, and then later come out as a stock version or something close... Kinda like what they've been doing with their recent stuff. No complaints here.
Brett Barrow Posted November 13, 2015 Posted November 13, 2015 The F&F Eclipse did have alternate body kit parts and an alternate decal scheme, so it bodes well for something besides the movie car. Good sign F&F willing to license it with alternate non-movie parts. Unless the other Eclipse was also in the movie, I don't know them that well.
iangilly Posted November 13, 2015 Posted November 13, 2015 The grill wasn't custom on that kit, it just had the headlights with the on position, it was nice change but a grill with the headlight doors down would be great too. If revell adds the door scoops, taillight trim, and adds a stock hood they've got a winner. That kit is mainly based off the 68/69 kit already (ie. Engine components, chassis)

jefropas Posted November 14, 2015 Author Posted November 14, 2015 Bummer, maybe they could do it with their Round 2 "new" and reconditioned parts (grille, door inserts, etc)...one can hope, thanks! Jeff
