Porscheman Posted December 8, 2015 Posted December 8, 2015 I took 3 years of starting and stopping this project, but it's final done. It's painted in factory Glen Green with Saddle interior. I got a set of resin Turbine Wheels off eBay, which I think looks much better than kit supplied wheels. Thanks for looking. Al Hosted on Fotki Hosted on Fotki Hosted on Fotki
pharoah Posted December 8, 2015 Posted December 8, 2015 Super nice build! I have those wheels and that kit too. I plan to build one like that - someday.
Ron Hamilton Posted December 9, 2015 Posted December 9, 2015 That looks great. I remember getting one of them on Christmas 1965. Spent the day building it, just to have my cousin come over and break it. It took a long time to get over that, but at least I was able to fix it.I have one in the basement in a box that I built in 1977. I may get it out and restore it to the 1977 build if the paint polishes out.
bbowser Posted December 9, 2015 Posted December 9, 2015 Beautiful, you did a great job. Those turbine wheels look awesome.
GTJUNIOR Posted December 10, 2015 Posted December 10, 2015 Stunning build. Love these 60's corvettes, they have beautiful lines.
ZIL 111V Posted December 10, 2015 Posted December 10, 2015 Very nice!, love the color indeed the after market wheels look much better.Monogram surely did a nice job on this big & simple kit back then, looks great 50 years later.
MrObsessive Posted December 10, 2015 Posted December 10, 2015 That looks really great Al! I too love that shade of green for that year, and I also have that kit for many years now. I built one originally back in the early '80's, but a couple of moves damaged it and it ended up getting tossed unfortunately. The current kit I have I must have gotten it sometime in the late '90's and still haven't done anything with it. If I may ask, where did you get the redline tires, or did you paint those on? I like those wheels too...........may spring for a set if I come across 'em.
mikemodeler Posted December 15, 2015 Posted December 15, 2015 That is very nice, I like the color as it is not one that is seen often. Nicely detailed, could have sworn I was looking at the real thing!
disabled modeler Posted December 27, 2015 Posted December 27, 2015 That is NICE Al....beautiful work.
Porscheman Posted December 31, 2015 Author Posted December 31, 2015 Thanks everyone. I had a lot of fun building this one. I wish Revell/Monogram would reissue more of these.Al
