It's been that way with pretty much all of the dual color run releases over the past several years. It was a shot in the dark to find white B/M 70 1/2 Camaros or '67 Shelbys, but the molded in color ones hung around for months. Shops could clearly sell all the white ones they could get their hands on, I have to wonder how it impacted total sales to have a part if the run get passed on, because those are orders vendors aren't placing to wholesalers when you can't move product. Interesting.....but wonder in global sales (internet, craftstores etc), if profiling of the casual/weekend modeler needs to be redone. Edited January 20, 2022 by Luc Janssens

Well Salvinos is taking a flyer on trying to attract the beginner/returning modeler by offering one of their 70s Charger kits molded in Petty Blue - so you allegedly don't have to paint it - and then supplying what they're calling vinyl wraps(instead of water slides) to put on it. If they're anything like real wrap material that could be interesting for their upcoming 2022 Camaro schemes...albeit I'm not sure how you'd take that to a contest if you wrapped your entire model, and didn't have to paint any part of it.

I recently watched a video on Luka Cee's YouTube channel about this kit and its wrap 'decals'. Cool concept, but seems like it's more trouble than it's worth. The example Luka had appeared nicely moulded, with minimal parting lines needing an easy dressing-down; no swirling of the colour that I can recall. I really like that Salvino's produces their kits in the good old U.S.A. , and that their quality is top notch. If I was 'into' NASCAR et al., I'd be buying only from them.
Rusty92 Posted March 24, 2022 Posted March 24, 2022 I’ve looked at this kit many times but always put it back. The box art car looks pretty cool. Might have to pick one up. Thanks for sharing @Casey
stavanzer Posted March 24, 2022 Posted March 24, 2022 Here are the original Instructions for the "Ala Impala" boxing. https://public.fotki.com/drasticplasticsmcc/mkiba-build-under-c/amt-instructions/automotive-cars--pi/chevrolet/1951-1960/amt-58-chevrolet-im1/?view=roll#1
Mark Posted March 24, 2022 Posted March 24, 2022 The instructions haven't changed much over the years, simply because the kit hasn't changed much. Early issues had a custom piece that located at the back of the roof, over the stock "scoop" trim. That got reworked into a hood scoop. The wheel halves were tinkered with a bit, that about sums it up.

espo Posted March 24, 2022 Posted March 24, 2022 I think if anyone wanting to build a model of a '58 Impala and can't find the Revell issue should consider this AMT kit. The body proportions are very correct looking. The AMT kit offers several build options and opening doors. While this is an older tooling at the time that AMT brought this out it was one of the best designed kits at the time. 1
stavanzer Posted March 24, 2022 Posted March 24, 2022 Model Built by Ron Roberts. It is a very nice build. 1
