Truck parts Posted February 15, 2016 Posted February 15, 2016 Great looking build so far, What did you use for the head light lens? They look great
gino Posted February 15, 2016 Posted February 15, 2016 looks great dan ! , love those exhaust shields with the short pipes !
Mopar - D Posted February 15, 2016 Author Posted February 15, 2016 Gordon. The resin is thick behind the lights so I used a drill bit to create a round concave behind the lense. The lense came from my parts box. No telling what kit they came with. Thanks gino.
Old Buckaroo Posted February 15, 2016 Posted February 15, 2016 The stacks look right on for this truck, nice job!
mustang1989 Posted February 15, 2016 Posted February 15, 2016 (edited) The lense came from my parts box. No telling what kit they came with. I'm a member of that club! I've got stuff everywhere from all kinds of kits. LOL . Great lookin' build so far Dan!!! It was great talking to you this weekend. I'll be seeing you at the Houston show pal. tbill Posted February 16, 2016 Posted February 16, 2016 wow, fantastic work so far Dan, this is going to be a mean looking rig when you're done!
landman Posted February 16, 2016 Posted February 16, 2016 I installed the pipes and some PE exhaust shields. Dan, what is the source of the shields.
Mopar - D Posted February 17, 2016 Author Posted February 17, 2016 Thanks guys Dennis, I picked up the PE from The Model Car Garage on line. Here's the package.
RandyEarle Posted February 17, 2016 Posted February 17, 2016 Too bad ya can't make some flappers for the tops of the stacks. When I drove for Rehrig Pacific we had flappers.
gatorincebu Posted February 17, 2016 Posted February 17, 2016 Dan , You have this project looking real good . Be Well Gator
Mopar - D Posted February 17, 2016 Author Posted February 17, 2016 Randy, I've been thinking of how or what I can use for some flappers.
Old Buckaroo Posted February 18, 2016 Posted February 18, 2016 Dan do you have a set of punches ? I punched a disk out of .010" styrene and cut another piece for the hinge piece. A thin strip of Tamiya tape made the bracket around the stack.
Mopar - D Posted February 18, 2016 Author Posted February 18, 2016 Thanks Sean I'm going to give it a try. The picture helps me a lot.
gatorincebu Posted February 19, 2016 Posted February 19, 2016 Dan, you have this project looking really good. But you really need to try to make that flapper that Sean suggested. This truck is crying out for that little extra touch. Be Well Gator
Old Buckaroo Posted February 19, 2016 Posted February 19, 2016 Very nice , really adds the finishing touch to the stacks.
Mopar - D Posted February 19, 2016 Author Posted February 19, 2016 Thanks Sean,I now have a full set of punches that I've needed for some time now.
RandyEarle Posted February 20, 2016 Posted February 20, 2016 I added the flappers I can see it idling now, per plink per plink...
