Lets take a look at the new NASCAR kits from Revell

Up first, looking at bodies , there are mold lines that will need to be took care of, but that is going to require to repaint.

And Joey's #22

interior /chassis, is not the current COT style chassis, it is from the last NASCAR kits Revell did.

The exhasut, I want to point out that this is also not accurate, when NASCAR went to the COT, the exhaust exits on the right side

Little bit of info ,  for those that are going to want a more detailed build,  the bodies fit on the Monte Carlo kits chassis, the  2003-2006 kits , you will need to either trim down , or remove the two rear screw tubes that are attached on the bottom side of the deck lid.   Its the same chassis.   I havent checked yet, but I am sure the body will fit the 2005 Tarsus chassis as well.

Many thanks for the review Jonathan!  I will be picking up a couple of these to hopefully advance the cause for future Chevys and Yotas.

The only part that's painted on the Keselowski kit is the blue, everything else is bare plastic, letting it sit overnight in 91% alcohol stripped it clean

Ugh!

Not my Cuppa Tea at all. They look like cheap, semi-snap kits. "Snaptite Max"? I don't think so. However, as always, I'll cheer for them to have sales success, if only to subsidize the kits I really want.

I want a few to set aside as slump busters and at least one to do a Pro Touring type build. Nascar Taurus chassis, some modified interior pieces from maybe a Mustang or 80's T'Bird, twin turbo Nascar 355 or the supercharged 4.6 from a Stallion kit.... Yea, I see it.

That is a good looking car When dressed to look like a 2 door.

Aftermarket decals for sure

We got those at work the other day, wouldn't mind buy a kit, but just can't bring myself to spend money on a kit with either of those two on the box.

I know exactly how you feel!!!!   Buying the AMT COT kits with Hendrick markings.....it almost killed me!!!!!

(I worked in NASCAR licensing 1980's through 2000 so take my word)

Any way.......just happy to see new NASCAR kits....even if they are based on rather old tooling....old in racing terms.  The bodies are very well done and roll cage is decent. The chassis and exhaust are being reused from the older early 2000 kits.....which is VERY different than a COT Gen II chassis.  BUT NASCAR racers are bodies......today under those bodies are almost 100% the same other than engine and those look more and more alike every day......these kits have no motors and avoid the issue completely. My biggest complaint is not the chassis as once built not much an issue........but stickers only is an issue. I am doing my own decals but I wish there were nice grille, headlight etc decals included. Thanks to Revell and Ford for trying something new at least.
