socal76 Posted January 10, 2016 Posted January 10, 2016 Jeff, I have to agree with doggie427. A how-to on the wheels would be great to have as a reference.
6bblbird Posted January 10, 2016 Posted January 10, 2016 I too would like to see how you made those wheels. They look terrific!
Mopar Mike Posted January 11, 2016 Posted January 11, 2016 Jeff, great build. Dave would be proud of it.
10thumbs Posted January 13, 2016 Posted January 13, 2016 Hi Jeff, welcome to the Drag Racing Forum. You've posted some nice looking Altereds. It appears to me you're new here, we like reading about details too. Some guys have asked, but I don't see anything yet from your side, maybe I've overlooked a read or two. Won't be the 1st time.So Jeff, you got your eyes on?What's with the "During this time I learned how to make accurate 3 by 18 Americans"?You haven't forgotten already, have you?
dragcarz Posted January 14, 2016 Posted January 14, 2016 WOW. Very nice, you can tell by my avatar I'm a big fan of Altered's.......
jeff f Posted January 14, 2016 Author Posted January 14, 2016 Thanks everyone for your intrest . I'm sorry I;m not long on words . In 1999 I could not find 18 " Americans . So I made a master and cast a few up . A little later I started using a .010 think aluminum ring on each side . the tires I use are from the Monogram 1/24 T bucket dragster , the one with a lay dpwn driver .Hope this helps Jeff .
10thumbs Posted January 15, 2016 Posted January 15, 2016 OK.This is a start, many thanks. You "cast a few up". Styrene? The outer rim is from aluminum I gather. Correct? What are the spokes made of? How did you choose to fasten these to the rims?
Rattlecan Dan Posted July 24, 2024 Posted July 24, 2024 First glance had me looking for some kind of Skoal Bandit sponsorship. That color green, I guess. Nice stance, and photography. Nice-looking build for sure!
Ian McLaren Posted July 26, 2024 Posted July 26, 2024 Hi Jeff, I didn't realize your were on this site, an oversight on my part since you have been here since 2015 apparently. The car looks great and the front wheels are spot on. I'll have to track dowm the rest of your posts.
