Sixties Sam
Here's a thread about those go karts. The engines look like West Bend 2-strokers. I think I have one of those engines and sprockets somewhere.
unclescott58
Still wish Round 2 would reissue the go kart by itself. I'd love to have one.

Skip
They were likely Mcculloch chain saw motors.
disabled modeler
I use to have one of those years ago...would love to have another....Round 2 needs to reissue it as a parts pack...also the 63 Ford pickup overhead camper top...
Art Anderson
They were likely Mcculloch chain saw motors. Considering the era when Go-Karts first became popular, they started out using either Briggs & Stratton or Clinton 4-cycle 1-cylinder engines (about 1956-57 or thereabouts)). By 1958 or so, 2-cycle engines became the standard if you wanted to be competitive, and that generally meant chain saw engines, either West Bend or McCulloch (they being the "Gold Standartd" back then. I believe the engine in the AMT "teaser" parts kit was a McCulloch.Art

my80malibu
They were likely Mcculloch chain saw motors. After some research I did confirm these Are McCulloch engines. There is a very cool video on you tube, with Actor Don Knotts for the McCulloch engine, and the Dart cart. my80malibu
Replicas and Miniatures of Maryland does the streamliner version. I could have sworn the price is higher, than what is shown on the package above.
Exotics_Builder
I could have sworn the price is higher, than what is shown on the package above. That's an older picture I got off a Fotki site. I would have to check the one I have in the stash, but it also was bought over 10 years ago. If interested, best to email Norm and check availability and price.
