cobraman Posted February 20, 2016 Author Posted February 20, 2016 I am pretty sure I am going with the clear.
Speedfreak Posted February 20, 2016 Posted February 20, 2016 I was thinking the same thing, with the black, yellow and chrome you don't need the blue. This thing is going to be dynamic to say the least, should be beautiful Ray. What yellow is that? It looks very similar to MM Daytona Yellow. Whatever yellow it is, it looks just great on that car.
Roadrunner Posted February 20, 2016 Posted February 20, 2016 What's the hole in the fender for? Are you re-routing the exhaust?
cobraman Posted February 21, 2016 Author Posted February 21, 2016 Yes I am ! Just doing something different if stupid.
slusher Posted February 21, 2016 Posted February 21, 2016 Really like the yellow Ray, keep up the good work
cobraman Posted February 21, 2016 Author Posted February 21, 2016 Thanks Carl. I hope to have it done by mid week.
Randy D Posted February 22, 2016 Posted February 22, 2016 Hey Ray, Love your mustangs!!! I like the yellow color on this one. Randy
cobraman Posted February 22, 2016 Author Posted February 22, 2016 Thanks Randy. I see your in Colorado. I am going there in April for a family reunion. Staying in Estes Park. Looking forward to spending time in your beautiful state.
1930fordpickup Posted February 22, 2016 Posted February 22, 2016 Looks good Ray.I like the black bumpers.
Roadrunner Posted February 22, 2016 Posted February 22, 2016 Yes I am ! Just doing something different if stupid. Works for me. I think I'll stick with what the kit offers though.
cobraman Posted February 29, 2016 Author Posted February 29, 2016 Well the clear dried and I was able to finish this one. Just to recap.. AMT Mustang AWB Funny Car kit, I stripped some of the chrome parts, got the seats from the parts box as I did the front tires, sheet plastic front and rear spoilers, lowered suspension, parts box battery, aluminum tubing for exhaust dumps, pre wired distributor. Used Duplicolor yellow and Model Master high gloss clear enamel. Comments pro or con are always welcome.
wayne swayze Posted March 1, 2016 Posted March 1, 2016 That's a sharp looking car Ray! I love the yellow paint and the wheels are great!
vintagedragcrazy Posted March 1, 2016 Posted March 1, 2016 Very nice Ray love that yellow on that car!vince
Speedfreak Posted March 1, 2016 Posted March 1, 2016 Nice job Ray! How did you get the stance lower? Suspension, or , interior tub, or , both?Love that yellow man, it fits the car so well. Also like the Thrush 'pecker, fits the car perfectly. Did you mask off the wheels to paint the black, or , did you just paint 'carefully? Thanks,Gene
cobraman Posted March 1, 2016 Author Posted March 1, 2016 Thanks guys. Gene, for the suspension I just simply flipped the rear end and modified the front axle. Not the best looking under side but it did give me the effect I was looking for. As for the wheels I just brush painted with metallic black.
Speedfreak Posted March 1, 2016 Posted March 1, 2016 Thanks Ray, Did you lengthen the frame in front?
W-409 Posted March 11, 2016 Posted March 11, 2016 You did a great job with this one Ray. It shows how much potential this kit has when you do a few little modifications and do great job during the buildup. I like the overall look with yellow body and black bumpers. Headers coming through front fenders is a good idea too. Great work.
