vintagercr Posted February 20, 2016 Posted February 20, 2016 At first I thought it was a real car. Excellent work.I agree
Hubert Rollins Posted February 20, 2016 Posted February 20, 2016 Wow. Can't say much that hasn't already been said. I'd like to hire you to give me weathering lessons. Every piece is perfect. Love the oil can on the hood and the cat underneath. The grass and weeds- did you make them out of something or purchase them? I don't even know these cars and started not to view this, but I'm so glad I did!! True art. Mastery. Perfection. Those things are what everyone on this board is after, and you absolutely annihilated all three in one fell swoop.
Phildaupho Posted February 20, 2016 Posted February 20, 2016 This really is overwhelming - in a very good way.
crazyrichard Posted February 20, 2016 Posted February 20, 2016 whouw ... just whouw .. thats there at the top of realistic weathering ... doesnt get much better .. and n the cloe us it even looks real !respect !! love it !
Mr.Zombie Posted February 20, 2016 Author Posted February 20, 2016 Thank you very much. I'm glad you enjoy it.I don't think the numberplate is "too new", they are out of aluminium, don't rust (the only thing that rusts are the screws they are attached with, and that creates streaks), and unless you drive in salt or mud they don't really get dirty...
peekay Posted February 20, 2016 Posted February 20, 2016 That is truly one incredibly realistic model - and beautifully photographed, too.
bbowser Posted February 20, 2016 Posted February 20, 2016 Outstanding modelling! I've never seen that kit (or car) before, what scale?
Scott Colmer Posted February 20, 2016 Posted February 20, 2016 I was completely fooled. I thought I was looking at the inspiration for the project to come later on in the thread. Amazing!
Lovefordgalaxie Posted February 20, 2016 Posted February 20, 2016 The very best weathering job I ever saw. This kind of build always looks fake and overdone, but this one, WOW, it's the real deal in scale.
Lovefordgalaxie Posted February 20, 2016 Posted February 20, 2016 Not to mention the classic "Find the cat" picture, level hard.
Michael F Posted February 20, 2016 Posted February 20, 2016 (edited) This rusty Ford Taunus is a real Masterpiece! You have a good eye or the reality.Everything is perfect, the one little detail that blows me away, is the hanging windowgasket on the passengerside.I want to build a junkyard with racecars only. Man, i have so much to learn!!BTW, this Ford was called in Germany `Ford Badewanne` witch means Bathtub. Funny isn´t it? Edited February 20, 2016 by Michael F
Helix Posted February 21, 2016 Posted February 21, 2016 Mind blowing attention to detail Adam, well done mate!
DumpyDan Posted February 21, 2016 Posted February 21, 2016 Well done, incredible detail this could pass as real, very convincing
Sixties Sam Posted February 21, 2016 Posted February 21, 2016 Outstanding diorama and model! The weed detail really makes it look real! Great work!Sam
Dragline Posted February 21, 2016 Posted February 21, 2016 WHAT!!!?? I showed this to a co-worker and they didn't believe it till that bloody hand got in the way. RIGHTEOUS........
charlie8575 Posted February 21, 2016 Posted February 21, 2016 Utterly superb.Excellent model, great photography. Very, very well done.Charlie Larkin
buildnething Posted February 21, 2016 Posted February 21, 2016 Amazing stuff! That is the level of weathering I aspire to! Thanks for sharing!
Mr.Zombie Posted February 21, 2016 Author Posted February 21, 2016 (edited) I'm glad you like it friends.Bruce, the kit is in 1:24. Actually a transit. Resin of best quality, only the proportions of the car are a fair bit off. Hence the tyres on the roof, to camouflage it at least a bit...The car... Hmmm, yea, it's an odd one, here are pics of mine (4 door though)21257903220_293757b97b_c.jpgThat is the level of weathering I aspire to! Thanks for sharing! Right on Man! Thanks, and that is the RIGHT attitude! Very cool! Edited February 21, 2016 by Mr.Zombie
Chromecop Posted February 22, 2016 Posted February 22, 2016 Awesome build, I really love all the nice details!!! And quite amusing ....a resin kit of a german car, produced in finland, built by a person in Denmark and equipped with swedish lic.plates!!! Then, finally , shown at an american internet forum!
Mr.Zombie Posted February 22, 2016 Author Posted February 22, 2016 (edited) It has swedish plates because my main inspirations for this come from a photostream of a swedish dude:https://www.flickr.com/photos/32687125@N05/albums Edited February 22, 2016 by Mr.Zombie
Mattblack Posted February 22, 2016 Posted February 22, 2016 Absolutely stunning! The 'green stuff' growing under the windows looks just like my 1:1 Cortina (not washed for about 2 years...)
