IceMan Collections Posted February 27, 2016 Posted February 27, 2016 (edited) Here is something on my bench right now. Played around a paint job I had been wanting to lay down on a wagon. This one seemed to be the right boady for it. Edited February 27, 2016 by iceman-555
Jason Foster Posted February 27, 2016 Posted February 27, 2016 You can never have too many flames! Like it!
espo Posted February 27, 2016 Posted February 27, 2016 Nice looking wagon and I also like the flames. Did you use a mask to create them or did you make your own ?
IceMan Collections Posted February 27, 2016 Author Posted February 27, 2016 Thanks guys. David - I used a pre made mask. You can see it in the first coupl of pics.
Tom Geiger Posted February 27, 2016 Posted February 27, 2016 Where did you get those wheels? Chevy pickups of that era had six lug wheels. I don't believe cars did though.
Longbox55 Posted February 27, 2016 Posted February 27, 2016 Where did you get those wheels? Chevy pickups of that era had six lug wheels. I don't believe cars did though. You're right. Cars were 5 lug (5 v 4.75 pattern) starting in 1949. Those look to be from the Galaxy kits.
Sixties Sam Posted February 28, 2016 Posted February 28, 2016 Now that's cool! The flames look good! Those flame masks work well. I used one on a 49 Merc a few years ago. This will be killer when it's done!Sam
IceMan Collections Posted February 28, 2016 Author Posted February 28, 2016 Thanks everyone. Bill's right. They came from the 46 Chevy from Galaxie.I think they look at home on this custom wagon.
wayne swayze Posted February 28, 2016 Posted February 28, 2016 Very cool Iceman! The flames are killer! Keep 'er LOW!
Longbox55 Posted February 29, 2016 Posted February 29, 2016 It wasn't unusual for racers (circle track and drag) to swap the rear end out for the heavier duty 1/2 ton truck rear, and in the case of circle track cars, the front hubs as well, to get more durable parts and better brakes. So it really isn't "incorrect" from a certain point of view.I like it, makes the car look intimidating.
IceMan Collections Posted March 1, 2016 Author Posted March 1, 2016 Thanks guys. Appreciate you all following along.
misterNNL Posted March 9, 2016 Posted March 9, 2016 Nice to see someone building a longroof custom. Thanks for sharing.

mikemodeler Posted March 9, 2016 Posted March 9, 2016 Looks cool and definitely spot on! If I may ask, where did you source the flame mask? Those flames look great and I am wanting to try them on a build I have going.
