misterNNL Posted March 6, 2016 Posted March 6, 2016 Fantastic top chop Jason. You should see if you could get a quality resin caster to make some repops for the rest of us who don't have the same bodywork skills.Richard,I looked at the Jimmy Flintstone website last night and he does offer a really nice chopped '48 body for less than $ 20.00.
Ramfins59 Posted March 7, 2016 Posted March 7, 2016 Thanks for the heads-up Tom...... I'll check it out.
misterNNL Posted March 7, 2016 Posted March 7, 2016 The Flintstone stock number for their chopped '47 coupe is NB308 and it is $ 15.00.
CometMan Posted March 7, 2016 Posted March 7, 2016 Nice job Jason! I have a couple of those myself, they are really nice kits.

Mr. Metallic Posted March 7, 2016 Posted March 7, 2016 That window trim really completes the look. Like others are asking, any info on how you did them would be great!BTW, the stance is killer
Codi Posted March 7, 2016 Posted March 7, 2016 Exquisitely done Jason. It's so well done it looks like it should be the stock configuration. Trim is great too! cheers, tim

Jason Foster Posted March 11, 2016 Author Posted March 11, 2016 Sorry for taking so long to reply guys. Unfortunately I did not take any pics of the chop while in the process. The window trim is made from .040" styrene sheet. I first made a paper template, so that I could transfer it onto the sheet plastic and cut it out. I then drum sanded the inner opening. After that I used small sanding sticks to radius the inside and outside edge.
Jason Foster Posted March 11, 2016 Author Posted March 11, 2016 Here are some photos of the modified chassis. I had to modify quite a bit to get this thing as low as possible. I cut the front cross member off and raised it up as much as I could. Made a new transmission mount. Modified the rear leaf springs. Cut the mounting blocks on the floor pan More pics of this to come.
speedy5963 Posted March 11, 2016 Posted March 11, 2016 Nice work, really like the looks of this build and how it is coming along
Jason Foster Posted March 11, 2016 Author Posted March 11, 2016 (edited) I am still able to use the kit engine after the chassis mods. More to come. Edited March 11, 2016 by Jason Foster
Jason Foster Posted March 11, 2016 Author Posted March 11, 2016 (edited) Still need to add the exhaust and gas tank. I don't think they will cause to many problems. Did have to cheat a little and cut he tops of the tires. The hub caps are from the AMT 36 Ford kit Its as low as it will go! Next up interior and engine. Thanks for looking and commenting guys. Jason Foster Posted March 31, 2016 Author Posted March 31, 2016 Well, finally got the body buffed out and foiled. Started working on the engine and interior. Thanks for looking.....more to come.
chopper430 Posted March 31, 2016 Posted March 31, 2016 IMHO THE BACK END NEEDS TO LOWER A BIT MORE BUT OTHERWISE A GEAT BUILD.
Metalhead93 Posted March 31, 2016 Posted March 31, 2016 That looks beautiful! All your custom work looks as if the kit came from the factory that way, nice work!
squirrel886 Posted April 5, 2016 Posted April 5, 2016 Very, very nice! Love the chop and how it sits.
