There seem to be all kinds of little "glitches" going on.

I've had issues with replying to threads quite often.

When I click on "reply" on particularly long threads, about half the time I don't get a text box to type a message in.

I found a way around that one, but I've also had the problem of clicking on "reply" on a thread that I had responded to in the past & getting a whole page of "quoted" messages from past posts!

Not to mention the "Insert other media" button being pretty much useless, although I haven't tried inserting any photos that way for several months.

There are obviously still problems to address.

Well, I had zero difficulties in late January fixing my Chevy Luv thread, by re-uploading all the photos where the links out of my old MCM gallery went dead from the last forum system update. But in fixing two other threads more recently, I was losing the photo links only minutes after replacing them. To circumvent that, I had to log out of the forum after dragging each individual photo off my desktop and inserting it into the proper place within the text. Quite a chore to log-in, fix, log-out, repeat -- took an hour or more for the Nordberg models thread and about the same for my Y-block WIP thread.

I've made posts and they seemed to go through, but then later they're not there.

Now here's the weird part: Sometimes if I hit Reply in that thread, the reply box will pop up with my earlier, now-unposted post typed in. I've had this happen the next day, and from a completely different computer. :o

This is one of the things I've experienced as well. I even retyped the message into another site and then tried to transfer it back to MCM only to have it happen again, almost as if it were something within the message i typed.

I encountered that error too. It happened when I submitted a post. Makes me grumpy, and I have to dive into the bowels of the server logs. I'm still trying to suss out what's happening.

My only suggestion in the interim is to select all, and copy before you submit. Not optimal by a long shot, but the best I can offer at the moment.

I typed a long reply to Bill Geary's Mopar question on Thursday.  It wouldn't post, instead yielding the "404 Error" message others of you have apparently seen.

So I copied the text to Wordpad and then tried pasting and reposting on Saturday and Sunday.  Exact same error message each time I tried.

Other newer Boyd replies posted OK,   In the meantime, I finally gave up on the Bill Geary response as by then several others had posted the same info that was in my text.....TIM

I have had the same experience on several occasions. Exactly.

Sometimes the 404 is followed by not even being able to get on the board for an hour or 3.

Would you please let me know when this is happening? I need an accurate time and the date. I need to correlate these failures back to the server logs.

Had this happen again yesterday. Typed a rather long post with quote, and then stupidly X-ed out of the tab instead of hitting Submit Reply. But I came back into the thread, hit the quote button again, and there was my lost post, which I then successfully submitted.

So sometimes the glitches work in your favor....

Dave....my problem occured on March 18 but don't know the time.  However, I tried to copy and resubmit the comment multiple times over the next two days (March 19 and March 20); I continued to get the same error message and finally gave up.   Will let you know if I have any more problems....TIM

Thanks. This site gets an amazing amount of traffic. So, date and time are a must.
