Heller 1/24 BMW 328 -- anyone built one?

Great kit. Chassis easy, working steering nice. Frame a bit flimsy but supports car fine.

Heller 2 piece body is royal pita. But, with care, and internal bracing it molds great. Cowl first then work toward rear end. Hood fits well. Grille is molded in, not very amenable to opening up. Paint and bmf help greatly. Hood straps molded in, but again careful painting works.

Interior and trim is easy. I drilled the solid wheels like many of these cars were. Works great.

The street version has full windshield frame. The racing version only has 1/2 of the frame, so no stock build from it.

Love this kit. Have a few. Proportions and lines dead on, as are most Heller. The tool makers just smoke crack and do weird things breaking down body to mold.
