AMT Peterbilt 359 California Hauler

I have recently found a original 1969 AMT Peterbilt 359 t500 500 still in the box with all contents. Box opened but not assembled great shape. Green tinted glass Goodyear tires 10.20-20,, Goodyear stickers, Hurst first hemi under glass brochure, and a good year tire brochure, and decals but I did not see a mail-in form. Trying to find out the value of something like this don't know a lot just for what I've been reading recently.

How different is this kit from the Peterbuilt 359 AMT/Ertl released in 2002? The red one missing the fuel tanks and mudflaps on the box art.

They're very different, early bumper vs later bumper, 2 bar grille vs 3 bar grille, 8v-71 Detroit vs 350 Cummins, little window cab vs 1100 series big window cab, there might be more but I'm not certain.

The day cab version has been reissued recently so shouldn't be hard to find. The mail in sleeper is much harder to find but there are other options for sleepers if you want one.

Wasn't it just the Mercury sleeper that was the parts pack? The original mail in sleeper was something different I believe.

Another note, the large front bumper on the newer 1100 cab was a factory option on the older small window cab, but probably on later '71 and '72's.

Enough to inspire somebody to use the AITM Restrite Sleeper, and clone the original kit!

I built the 1973 issue back in my teen years. I only have to 2011 reissue presently in my stash.
