James2 Posted March 31, 2016 Author Posted March 31, 2016 Thanks Rob, and I just couldn't resist a little mock up.
Ace-Garageguy Posted March 31, 2016 Posted March 31, 2016 Oh yes. That grille opening looks like it might kinda want a Bugatti insert.
misterNNL Posted April 1, 2016 Posted April 1, 2016 I saw a vintage photo on Pintrest today of Ed Roth taken with the Bandit and two models sitting inside it with top down. The gals were curled up in almost fetal positions trying to force a smile for the cameraman. Those bubble tops look cool but we're totally impractical.
Crazy Ed Posted April 1, 2016 Posted April 1, 2016 Tom if there's ANYTHING a Bubble Top Ain't, it's Cool if you're inside of it. And add the Pic was most likely taken in Sothern Calif and those girls wern't in Fetal Position, They were in Medium Rare Position
James2 Posted April 1, 2016 Author Posted April 1, 2016 (edited) Comfy! Edited April 1, 2016 by James2
Crazy Ed Posted April 1, 2016 Posted April 1, 2016 That kinda Sums up the Driveabulity of that Roth Car dosen't it! Heck given their "Beehive" Hair Doos I'm guessing they're dying from Laquer Fumes from their Hair Spray
James2 Posted April 2, 2016 Author Posted April 2, 2016 I saw a vintage photo on Pintrest today of Ed Roth taken with the Bandit and two models sitting inside it with top down. The gals were curled up in almost fetal positions trying to force a smile for the cameraman. Those bubble tops look cool but we're totally impractical.Very Cool and impractical, but that is the point of a show rod right!
misterNNL Posted April 2, 2016 Posted April 2, 2016 (edited) That's the exact photo I was talking about.I was a little surprised they bothered to publish it.I guess any photo with Big Daddy was a marketable commodity.personally I think the blonde looks like has gas from too many tacos and wishes Ed would open the canopy! Edited April 2, 2016 by misterNNL Too funny not to change?
James2 Posted April 12, 2016 Author Posted April 12, 2016 Well after some cement spillage i managed to get the bubble top up on wheels. Not quite right yet but this was more of a challenge than I expected! Fitting will continue...
TarheelRick Posted April 12, 2016 Posted April 12, 2016 Beautiful work on this one. Love the concept and the design.
Jantrix Posted April 12, 2016 Posted April 12, 2016 I can't help but think it needs some sort of front fender. maybe just some cycle fenders?
James2 Posted April 12, 2016 Author Posted April 12, 2016 I can't help but think it needs some sort of front fender. maybe just some cycle fenders? Thanks guys, I was thinking that or maybe some kind of a pod behind the tire.
Crazy Ed Posted April 13, 2016 Posted April 13, 2016 This is coming along nicely James. The Rear Fenders off of the Beatnik Bandit could be grafted onto your Car for Front Fenders!
DrKerry Posted April 13, 2016 Posted April 13, 2016 You know when I first saw the idea of the grille shell I didn't like the look of the nose, but now seeing it with the insert in it I kinda dig it!!!!!!! Overall this thing flat out rocks!!!!!!
exesivefire Posted April 13, 2016 Posted April 13, 2016 A pair of spoons could make pretty neat front fender pods.. Eric gave me that idea so I'm not claiming it
James2 Posted April 26, 2016 Author Posted April 26, 2016 Small update, found some fenders and mounts...
JTalmage Posted April 26, 2016 Posted April 26, 2016 This thing is looking even more wild and I love it!!
DeeCee Posted April 27, 2016 Posted April 27, 2016 Very cool, but wider rear wheels would fill the guards out a bit better maybe??
Jantrix Posted April 27, 2016 Posted April 27, 2016 Small update, found some fenders and mounts... And I LIKE it! Looking good.
