rmvw guy Posted March 27, 2016 Posted March 27, 2016 I didn't take a lot of time with this post. First one in a while because of my trouble loading photos here. Did it work?
espo Posted March 28, 2016 Posted March 28, 2016 Really like the build style. Great paint and a lot of engine.
rmvw guy Posted March 29, 2016 Author Posted March 29, 2016 Thanks guys for taking the time to comment. My apologies for not providing more/better quality photos. I have had much trouble posting here and about to give up for lack of response to my posts. (Maybe not worth the trouble to you or me?) When I get to 300 viewers and only 4 comments I start to wonder. The quality of the builds here sometimes are way beyond my imagination so, I sometimes feel I am being snubbed on my efforts. Feeling very negative, sorry. Not looking for pitty, just a rant.

I think what may happen has nothing to do with you but how the site works. As people look at and post their opinion on someone's build it then goes to the top of the stack. Each time someone posts it keeps pushing everyone else down. If no one posts anything pretty soon you get pushed to the second or even third page. I always look for the date someone posts and if it's only been a day or two I'll look to see if it's something I missed. Someone else may just go by it if it's on the second page or beyond. It's a theory, but it's what I think may be happening to you.
rmvw guy Posted March 29, 2016 Author Posted March 29, 2016 Thanks Dave, I think what you are saying is right in a lot of cases. I have just become frustrated by the amount of time it has taken me to post. Having my words deleted by an accidental touch of the screen, my fault, or pictures not loading from photo bucket. I am not very computer savvy and technology keeps changing too fast for this old man. (Thought I just lost it again! It came back. Whew!) There are easier ways to do this I am sure. I look back at some of my posts and the photos are gone! Sometimes I just have to ask, why am I doing this? I have had a lot of enjoyment when things work. I appreciate every comment I get and I think I understand why some people don't want to take the time to leave comments. I have slowed way down on giving compliments to everyone also, and only give them when I see something I really, really like. I'm sure I miss a lot of nice ones, even with daily notifications on my email. It probably helps to have a friends list. I get more comments on Facebook about my models from people who don't even like models or cars. Every one knows I like model cars but, not much from the guys here that really like models. Anyway, this is rather long but, thanks for listening.
vintagercr Posted March 29, 2016 Posted March 29, 2016 Looks great and I think the guys in the photo like them too
rmvw guy Posted March 30, 2016 Author Posted March 30, 2016 (edited) Thanks again for the kind words. A special thanks to David, Tony, Jeff, Carl, Jim and Steven on a more personal level for renewing my interest on this site. Next time I promise more and better photos. Ace-Garageguy Posted March 30, 2016 Posted March 30, 2016 Ron, I like the way you've given the car more visual rake by channeling the front of the body shell deeper over the frame than the rear. This style can often be too extreme, but you've hit a line that looks very aggressive and purposeful without becoming cartoonish. The car has an all-business, serious competition look not often associated with the Victoria body style, and it works very well here. Your model has made me want to get one of the recent-release Vics. My eye was also immediately drawn to the chopped '36 in the first shot. I guess I missed that one, but it looks good to me too. The skirts and Moon discs give it a fine old lakes-racer vibe I can't resist. I'm liking that phaeton too...and the rest, including your dio work. I share some of your frustration about posting, having had a couple of my longer tech responses disappear into some electronic black hole. P'bucket was acting up for a while too, making it misery to try to post photos, and it still has some occasional and maddening little glitches. Looks like you've got the photo thing wired, so keep on posting and most especially...nice work.
rmvw guy Posted March 30, 2016 Author Posted March 30, 2016 Thanks Bill, I know you have a patshion for AMT '32s also and I have admired your work in the past. I have switched to an iPad is part of my problem with posting. It does not seem to work with photo bucket. Another problem is my fat fingers don't work very good on the small keys. I have posted these photos directly from my iPad without a host. It probably won't work very many times, i don't know. The Vicky body was one I had left over from another build and decided to use it on a "Switchers" kit frame. All 5 of the cars were build on a two week stay at Hilton Head Beach, S.C. or at least started there. I have named them my Hilton Head Club. The '36 was a glue bomb that I added the chopped top to before the re spray. The phaeton body was left from the Switcher and I mounted it to a model A frame (Monogram) after it was dropped in the back. Also I converted it to a two door with a cover over the missing back seat. I might start a new thread on this. I have continued the theme with a small beach scene with sand from Hilton Head. Also I added S.C. Plates to all 5. Just pure fun for me, none of them show pieces really. My wife reads novels and I build models, my way of enjoying the good life.

I would love to be able to take my hobby on holidays, but always too much to do while on vacation. I like the back story to this post. Really nice work.
rmvw guy Posted March 31, 2016 Author Posted March 31, 2016 Thanks guys I got my fix, Tony , Allen and Ray you just made my day. I'm a little embarrassed now with my lack of enough good photos. I am overwhelmed at this point from the response, thanks again.
