Jmaracing Posted April 8, 2016 Posted April 8, 2016 What's up guys? Just finished this up last night. It's a monogram 70 chevelle painted with rust-oleum sage green. The vinyl top is also painted. I used rust- oleum textured satin black.i think it looks ok for my first vinyl top.. Thanks for looking and comments welcome.
Againmikewins Posted April 8, 2016 Posted April 8, 2016 Did you just spray the textured paint or is there something under the paint as well? Looks great!

Mercelo Posted April 10, 2016 Posted April 10, 2016 Thats a mean looking Chevelle. With those rims and the epoxy colored green, it looks like a car not to be challenged on the street. Well done.
Kmb0319 Posted April 19, 2016 Posted April 19, 2016 WOW!! First of all, Joe, I missed this one until now, but this is absolutely the best build I've ever seen of this model. Thanks so much for sharing, as I'm about to get one of these, and I have my inspiration! The color, the finish, the vinyl top, the details, the wheels... just everything is phenomenal. If I may ask, I have two questions:1. Those wheels... where are they from??? I've never seen 1/24 aftermarket wheels. What are they and where did you find them?2. The vinyl top. You said it's just textured paint, but the seams... did you lay down styrene strips to make those? I've never done a vinyl top, but I've been thinking about trying for a while... especially with that Rustoleum textured paint. THANKS!!

The seems are thin strips of testors model tape then paint. As for the rims got them from my parts box. I don't remember from what kit they are from. I used the kit tires with slixx decals and dull coat. Thank you for the comments..
Intmd8r Posted April 19, 2016 Posted April 19, 2016 That's a mean looking machine. Wouldn't change a thing!
