Jantrix Posted May 8, 2016 Posted May 8, 2016 Admittedly I've yet to master the shiny paint job. I'm pretty terrified of ruining good paint with the buffing process, which I have done twice. However I did win Best Paint recently for my patina'd '49 Ford. 2
philo426 Posted May 8, 2016 Author Posted May 8, 2016 Looks like you have it down!Reminds me of patinaed rids on the HAMB.
Intmd8r Posted May 8, 2016 Posted May 8, 2016 (edited) My most recent "WIP": Ford Panel truck with Testor's Metalic Black. I absolutely love the colour! My most recent completion: Edited May 9, 2016 by Intmd8r 3
gtx6970 Posted May 8, 2016 Posted May 8, 2016 To be honest. My favorite is actually one of my most recent. Also one of the fastest builds I've ever done. Start to finish in just over 24 hours. It was far easier than I imagined it was going to be and turned out much better than I thought it would. 1

Lovefordgalaxie Posted May 8, 2016 Posted May 8, 2016 The one I like the most, is my '57 Club Vicky in Colonial White and Inca Gold. It's rare for me to paint a car in two tone, but this one is my all time color combo for the real car, and I really liked the work I did on the kit. 1957 Ford Fairlane 500 Club Victoria by Túlio Lazzaroni, on Flickr 5
StevenGuthmiller Posted May 8, 2016 Posted May 8, 2016 I've always really liked the combo on my '59 Dodge. Steve 4
TooOld Posted May 8, 2016 Posted May 8, 2016 And I'm not a good painter. You're kidding right ? That's a gorgeous truck !
TooOld Posted May 8, 2016 Posted May 8, 2016 Candy tangerine over a yellow base topped with clear pearl .
JollySipper Posted May 8, 2016 Posted May 8, 2016 I think this one turned out pretty good............... 1
Harry P. Posted May 8, 2016 Posted May 8, 2016 I was going for an authentic period finish, not a restored, glass-smooth, shiny finish. But what the car would have looked like back in the day. I think I got it... 7
Teds57 Posted May 8, 2016 Posted May 8, 2016 (edited) a couple of my favorites Edited May 8, 2016 by Teds57 wrong links
Mister Twister Posted May 8, 2016 Posted May 8, 2016 Great looking paint jobs fellas...Mine are mostly race cars but I'll share them anyway. 1
Lovefordgalaxie Posted May 9, 2016 Posted May 9, 2016 It didn't take long for the thing to go from "your favorite paint job" to "a bunch of pictures of different kits, that are all my favorite paint jobs" And I just won a case of beer.
Petetrucker07 Posted May 9, 2016 Posted May 9, 2016 The title says... picS of your favorite paint jobS.It didn't take long for the thing to go from "your favorite paint job" to "a bunch of pictures of different kits, that are all my favorite paint jobs" And I just won a case of beer.
philo426 Posted May 9, 2016 Author Posted May 9, 2016 Planes too?You bet...instead of painting a bumper or grile with Alclad I sprayed the whole thing!
