Red Baron

I finished this last summer. I know a little slow on the posting but hey, I was busy building models.... LOL Anyway, basically box stock. Fun but a bit of a pain to put together. I used Tamiya Red and Krylon Nickel for the colors.

Very cool!  This is one of my all time favorite model kits from my youth.  I still have what is left of the original kit I built many, many years ago.  Nice job on yours!

That looks great !    I like the helmet painted nickel instead of chrome plated ,   it looks like the full size Red Baron built by Chuck Miller ! :D

Great job, such a cool rod

Made this kit as a kid long ago, have had the box in my hands a couple times to buy again it but not pulled the trigger

Now you are making me regret putting the box down

Great model Bernie, I have an old original to restore, one day :( . Just don't seem time these days but thats life.

Hey Bob, just how many $$$ to chrome the full size, and worse, how many hrs polishing it out:o

And for anyone visiting the Wiesbaden area of Germany, here the Baron finally lies. This is a family grave as the Red Baron was originally buried in both France and (East Berlin)Germany. His stone is at the front.

Anyone wishing more details PM me please as this is a modelling forum ;)
