maltsr Posted May 25, 2016 Posted May 25, 2016 (edited) I recently saw a restored '60's custom at a local car show and it inspired me to build something similar based on the Revell '29 roadster: The channelled chassis version was used, with fenders from the Stacey David Rat Roaster kit. The AMT '34 5-window provided the wheels with parts box tyres and rear bumper. Paint is Testor's Dark Cherry Pearl with Tamiya clear, all from the spraycan. The front axle was lowered and basic engine wiring added, together with a Model Parts Garage 1932 instrument cluster. Edited May 25, 2016 by maltsr
Ramfins59 Posted May 25, 2016 Posted May 25, 2016 That is a sharp looking hot rod... I love the color.
Phildaupho Posted May 25, 2016 Posted May 25, 2016 Love the rear nerf bar and the fenders. Very nicely done.
Dennis Lacy Posted May 26, 2016 Posted May 26, 2016 Right On!!! It just goes to show how a few basic changes can have a dramatic effect, It's nearly straight from the box, yet looks nothing like what's on the box.
rmvw guy Posted May 26, 2016 Posted May 26, 2016 Nice job, the mods really bring it up to date. The front bumper had to go. Love it!
Spex84 Posted May 29, 2016 Posted May 29, 2016 Awesome kitbashing...the cycle fenders, baby moon hubcaps, and rear bumper give it a much more unique and interesting appearance than a box-stock build would have. As stated in the WIP thread, I love the color combo too! Very sharp indeed
