Just "finished" this up earlier this weekend. Finished is in quote marks because I still need to add the tie-down hooks for the sides. At this point I'm undecided- use the kit-supplied parts or make ones that actually swivel. Other than that, it's a box-stock buildup of the late '80's Esci boxing of the classic old AMT kit.

It's "permanent" setup will be hooked to a custom White Western Star 4800 (you may have seen that one before- http://www.modelcarsmag.com/forums/topic/100224-custom-white-western-star-53-reefer/ ) with a shabby 4800 (you may also have seen that one before- http://www.modelcarsmag.com/forums/topic/100112-white-western-star-4800-not-quite-supernova-but-well-into-the-white-dwarf-phase/ ) as the load. So that's how it's shown in the first few photos. But I still had to see how it would look paired up with some of the other tractors I have, so I took a few pics with those as well.

Here it is as I intended it-

Since that last photo was taken, I have added an old Michigan plate to the back.

And the "just for fun" pics...

The Road Boss will eventually end up paired with another lowboy- perhaps one of these, perhaps an aftermarket or kitbashed detachable neck unit.

The Raider will eventually be pulling an end dump gravel trailer.

No plan whatsoever for what the Lonestar will pull.

Again, nothing in mind for the 359.

Hidden Agenda will probably end up pulling an old Fruehauf van.

Nice work Chuck. These trailers can be a pain but they look good when done right.

This one sure was- easily the worst-fitting kit I've ever worked with up to this point. On the plus side, if I ever build another one I'll know exactly what to do differently and where to improve.

    Chuck,

Your low boy looks really good behind all of your tractors!  Though I am partial to the dark red Pete !
