cobraman Posted June 8, 2016 Posted June 8, 2016 I bought this kit just to get the wheels for a project. When that was done I was trying to figure out what to do with this kit. While doing a search I came across the photo you will see here. I am not going to try and do a replica of it but rather use it as a guide to something similar. I don't normally do any rat rods or barn find stuff but will try and do this up as a car where the interior and engine and chrome was restored but the body was left as found.
Intmd8r Posted June 8, 2016 Posted June 8, 2016 Cool idea for a project. Can't wait to see more. Its been many years since I tried to build this kit, don't have many positive memories...best of luck!
cobraman Posted June 10, 2016 Author Posted June 10, 2016 Thanks ! I am fighting the urge to put a shiny paint job on it. : )
bobthehobbyguy Posted June 10, 2016 Posted June 10, 2016 Great project. Definitely this the eeathering is great. If you want you could always do a shiny version for a before and after set.
Snake45 Posted June 10, 2016 Posted June 10, 2016 Very interesting and very nice. I'd say the hood scoop is of a style that looks much newer than the rest of the car, but otherwise, it looks very "barny."
cobraman Posted June 10, 2016 Author Posted June 10, 2016 I must agree about the scoop. I may have to check the parts box and see if I have something more period looking.
Intmd8r Posted June 10, 2016 Posted June 10, 2016 I must agree about the scoop. I may have to check the parts box and see if I have something more period looking. or no scoop at all.... A tunnel ram intake sticking out of the hood would suit the gasser look.
iBorg Posted June 11, 2016 Posted June 11, 2016 (edited) What about a Grump Lump? Should be easy with sheet plastic. Edited June 11, 2016 by iBorg Added photo
Snake45 Posted June 11, 2016 Posted June 11, 2016 I'd say No Scoop would work best for this, too. Just have a weathered-looking blower/injector coming through the hood.
Mooneyzs Posted June 11, 2016 Posted June 11, 2016 What Ray... No cobra? Haha I am really liking where you are going with this build. It is looking good so far. I gotta say I like Richards idea with the blower.
cobraman Posted June 12, 2016 Author Posted June 12, 2016 Made some progress on this one. Just needs some bits and pieces added to complete it.
vintagedragcrazy Posted June 12, 2016 Posted June 12, 2016 I have a 69 Chevelle rusty old drag car a friend of mine built for me and he made a tarp over the tunnel ram sticking through the hood with the hood on it looks really cool with the tarp sticking through the hood.vince
