Ace-Garageguy Posted June 23, 2016 Posted June 23, 2016 Very cool. Clever and creative recycling of a nuisance waste product you'd think would have no use whatsoever.
slusher Posted June 23, 2016 Posted June 23, 2016 Real interesting. Imagine making a chess set of of those..
IHSS Posted June 23, 2016 Posted June 23, 2016 A couple of years ago, I forget what magazine it was but I think it was "Old Skool Rodz", Had an article in the new product section that had jewelry made out of paint droppings from some of the old paint lines. I think they were calling it Fordite or somthing like that.

I can imagine that you could probably make quite a bit of stuff out of it. Thanks for posting this. Good stuff. Jeff
Jantrix Posted June 23, 2016 Posted June 23, 2016 I think that would make great window crank knobs and any sort of dash knobs in a hot rod. Even a shifter knob if you can find a piece large enough. Seems like the stuff would be pretty strong. I dig it.
dartman Posted June 24, 2016 Posted June 24, 2016 I have turned some bottle stoppers out of paint.Friend of mine owns a body shop and pours unused and mismixed paint into dixie cups for me.
Bucket T Posted June 24, 2016 Posted June 24, 2016 (edited) Not meaning to hijack this thread, but you can always use drippings from surfboards too. My dad made a chessboard with colored and alternating white tiles. Hopefully the link works. I'm trying not to add a pic from my computer anymore, but photobucket is not cooperating with me. lordairgtar Posted June 30, 2016 Posted June 30, 2016 Fordite it is. It's long been used in craft work, jewelry and such. My grandfather had it around and he had a Zippo lighter covered in it.
