Harry P. Posted June 28, 2016 Posted June 28, 2016 Very nicely done! I like the drag chute detail, most people leave off the chute lines. My only critique would be that you should have removed the mold seam lines from the rear push bar.
iBorg Posted June 28, 2016 Posted June 28, 2016 More details please......Where did you get the decals, motor, wheels, tires, WIP pics? This is a great build of a difficult kit that I actually have.
John Teresi Posted June 28, 2016 Posted June 28, 2016 Jim......very nice build......pictures are great too!!!!!
JPolli Posted June 28, 2016 Author Posted June 28, 2016 Mike The kit is the Revell Angila Kit with a modified front and rear suspension. The engine, valve covers, breathers, blower, blower hat, are from my parts box. The headers and front wheels are from the Malco Gasser kit. Rear wheels and front tires are from Speed City Resin. Rear slicks are from the Revell Austin Gasser kit. Rear push bar is from the Revell SWC Willys kit. Wheelie bar is scratch built. Paint is Duplicolor Inferno Red Metallic over a silver base followed by Tamiya clear red. Decals are from PoleCat decals, Joe Curtis and from the Revell Anglia kit. Not sure what what you mean "WIP Pics"? Let me know if you would like more info.
Marlowe Posted June 29, 2016 Posted June 29, 2016 This is a superb execution in every way. Car, photos, everything! This is a post I'll come back to see again.
High octane Posted June 29, 2016 Posted June 29, 2016 Very nice build on that Anglia Jim, as I've been a huge "gasser fan" for many years. Thanks.
Yahshu Posted June 29, 2016 Posted June 29, 2016 I use to see lots of these as a kid back in New Zealand, not one of them looked as cool as this, would be one wild ride
Daddyfink Posted June 30, 2016 Posted June 30, 2016 WIP = Work in Progress That looks really nice! My friend Skip Samples helped Joe at Fremont make the decals, nice to see them being used!
JPolli Posted June 30, 2016 Author Posted June 30, 2016 Jesse Skip Samples was a credit to our hobby. He is certainly missed.
Snake45 Posted July 1, 2016 Posted July 1, 2016 Very, VERY nice indeed! I don't think I've ever seen this kit built better. Model on!
10thumbs Posted July 3, 2016 Posted July 3, 2016 Great build James. I have a couple of Anglia Gassers to build, they sure look like a tough one to do nicely. These are cool cars, my opinion. Can you show us some detailed pics from under the hood and other areas, like the interior? Do the doors and trunk open on your model?
Outlawracing Posted July 9, 2016 Posted July 9, 2016 great job, are those the rear tires that came with the kit?
