Porsche Indy car

Here is my next Porsche project. Got this kit pretty cheap. Engine was assembled and decals looking old. 

Started painting the chassis. Detailing the rads. Here's is a pic of the box.

This is an awesome kit!

I bought it for the engine to put in a hopped up cafe racing Porsche 356 project I have planned.

Man that Porsche V8 is beautiful!!!

Says, "not designed to work with the Monogram March kits" for some reason, but I think most of it would work reasonably well - at least the lettering and numbers.

I have one of these unbuilt on the shelf, too. Watching, curious to see how it builds . . .

Look at the side of the car on the box. They spelled Porsche wrong.

Some progress.  Finished step 7.  Pedals to go in next. Paint some more detail on the gas tank. The engine assembly.

Wow, looks great.

It's interesting seeing other work flows, I'm still figuring it out mine.

But I take it that with yours, you do most painting on sprue.

Then when it comes time for fit, you sand/prep and then do some touch up?  With parts needing a lot of sanding/adjustments, I assume it's not biggy to paint em all over again as most parts fit correctly?

Most times I will paint from the sprue.  I use a sanding stick then touch up. Always touch ups to do 

 

always will have one Porsche on the bench 

 

I used a red sharpie for the lettering. Works perfect.

No problem.  Just don't use black sharpies as they leave a blue purple tinge

I think it was a short lived run. 88 and 89 seasons.
