Jim B Posted July 9, 2016 Posted July 9, 2016 Here are some in progress pics of my 1957 Ford Custom Chief's Car. I got the engine, sub-frame, & interior assembled & painted. Now I just have to put it all together! I'll be the first to admit that I usually don't build cars, so this is a little different for me. Here is the kit I'm starting with: I don't know how accurate the colors are for the engine (just going with Revell's suggestions), but if they're accurate, they sure were colorful back then: Not a whole lot of leg room in that back seat!
Poppa mitch Posted July 9, 2016 Posted July 9, 2016 Very nice, really like the interior. Keep the pics coming.
Jim B Posted July 10, 2016 Author Posted July 10, 2016 Thanks, Michael. The interior is just the decals from the kit over Tamiya Semi-Gloss Black. The kit has the same "fabric" decals for the side panels as well. I'll probably clear coat them before final assembly, though. Thanks, Dirk. Like I mentioned, I don't know if it is 100% accurate; but it sure is colorful! It's really a very nice kit, and I'm enjoying the build.
Jim B Posted September 25, 2016 Author Posted September 25, 2016 Got some more work done on the Fire Chief's car this weekend: Need to add the decal to the steering wheel:
tbill Posted September 29, 2016 Posted September 29, 2016 looking good Jim, you should build more cars
Jim B Posted September 29, 2016 Author Posted September 29, 2016 Thanks, Tom. I should just build more period! Next up is a 1/2500 USS Enterprise-A from Star Trek.
Jim B Posted October 24, 2016 Author Posted October 24, 2016 The glass is in, the chrome is on, and I'm one step closer to finishing by Halloween! Just some interior touch-up & all the exterior "doo-dads".
Jim B Posted October 24, 2016 Author Posted October 24, 2016 Nope! Should be able to finish it up in the next few days.
Jim B Posted October 25, 2016 Author Posted October 25, 2016 Almost done! I can see the light at the end of the tunnel, and this time it's NOT the headlamp of an oncoming train.
tbill Posted October 25, 2016 Posted October 25, 2016 looking good Jim, Bobo is gonna love driving that
Jim B Posted October 25, 2016 Author Posted October 25, 2016 Thanks, guys. Just have to get the grill & front bumper on, then I can add the spot light, siren, & decals.
