Porscheman Posted July 26, 2016 Posted July 26, 2016 (edited) I traded a guy a 69 Impala for this Blvd. Resin kit and I really like the way it came out. I painted it DuPont Ginger Metallic with Dark Brown interior and top. I used Alclad for the bumpers and grill, BMF was used on the rest. The wheels are out of the parts box and the tires are AMT's Firestone's parts pak. Thanks for looking, Al Hosted on Fotki Hosted on Fotki Hosted on Fotki Hosted on Fotki Hosted on Fotki Edited July 26, 2016 by Porscheman
Porscheman Posted July 27, 2016 Author Posted July 27, 2016 Thanks Eric and Ray. I had fun with this one. AL
Chuck Most Posted July 27, 2016 Posted July 27, 2016 That's cool! I've seen their Mk V but never this one. I'm hoping they'll do a 4-door so I can build my old '81 Signature.
Ramfins59 Posted July 27, 2016 Posted July 27, 2016 Great looking Lincoln Al...... Haven't seen your posts lately... glad you're OK & back at it.
feretzrus Posted July 27, 2016 Posted July 27, 2016 Looks Great! I like the color, a very "Lincoln" color! I've got one of these, this is great inspiration!
Harry P. Posted July 27, 2016 Posted July 27, 2016 Something about those body proportions looks really off to me. Not your fault, of course... but something's not right. I dunno... maybe I'm seeing problems that aren't really there.
ChrisBcritter Posted July 27, 2016 Posted July 27, 2016 To me, the main problem is that the grille is extended out farther than it should be; it should be just barely in front of the headlights. IMCDb image from Honky Tonk Freeway: You did a nice job, Al! As a coupe, the Town Car did have somewhat odd proportions.
JTalmage Posted July 27, 2016 Posted July 27, 2016 Saw this on facebook... really killer! I'd love to have one myself as well. I'm a sucker for 2dr Lincolns. I own a Mark VIII
Rider Posted July 27, 2016 Posted July 27, 2016 Nice build, I too am a fan of those biggin two door luxury cruisers.
RestoModGuy Posted July 27, 2016 Posted July 27, 2016 Something about those body proportions looks really off to me. Not your fault, of course... but something's not right. I dunno... maybe I'm seeing problems that aren't really there.Noticed the same, can't exactly pin it, almost looks a bit to tall in the hat. Someone else noted the front grill porpotions appear off too.Al, as always, your finshed build is awesome, great job, again...
Hubert Rollins Posted August 2, 2016 Posted August 2, 2016 I used to work for a Lincoln dealer in the cleanup shop. I've cleaned up many, just not hardly this old. 88's was some of the oldest I cleaned up. The basic body shape didn't change for several years though. Nice model.
Robberbaron Posted August 6, 2016 Posted August 6, 2016 (edited) Clean build of an unusual subjectSomething about those body proportions looks really off to me. Not your fault, of course... but something's not right. I dunno... maybe I'm seeing problems that aren't really there. Noticed the same, can't exactly pin it, almost looks a bit to tall in the hat. Someone else noted the front grill porpotions appear off too.Al, as always, your finshed build is awesome, great job, again...I think there's lots of little things combining together to give the body that "off" look. I agree about the grill, and the windshield extends all the way to the top of the roof. Also, even though the 1:1 has some pretty long front and rear overhangs, it seems like the resin body's are a bit too long, especially the front. With a subject like this, I guess this is the only game in town, but you're not getting Modelhaus/Motor City/Missing Link quality.Looking on Blvd. Resin's Facebook page, it looks like their Mark V also has some proportional issues. bbowser Posted August 6, 2016 Posted August 6, 2016 Nice! I'm partial to big land yachts, be they 30's Packards or 80's Lincolns
American 185 Heavy Posted August 7, 2016 Posted August 7, 2016 Now that is a great build, and great color choice. My neighbor had one in a very similar color except with a white top. Was a great car. Always loved the 70's 8-'s big FoMoCo sedans
Rob Hall Posted August 7, 2016 Posted August 7, 2016 The 1:1 2drs were only offered 2 years (80-81) while the 4dr ran 80-89 for that generation....1:1 2drs of that generation are a pretty rare sight today...neat build of an obscure car.
Plasticfanatic Posted August 8, 2016 Posted August 8, 2016 Like it very much, would love to find one of these resin body.
