I have a friend in California that was in a major truck accident about 10 years ago where he ended up with 3rd degree burns on 95% of his body broken neck and several other bones (he shouldn't have survived) and that's what helps him, if he takes anything from his laundry list of other meds he can't even put his socks on.
bobthehobbyguy Posted August 23, 2016 Posted August 23, 2016 Also if you are not into the idea of smoking there is the option of edibles.Another thought have you considered acupuncture. It might provide an option for the pain.As far as the pain you've gotten into a serve pain cycle, when I had my issues with sciatica I thought it would pass so I didn't seek treatment immediately. Big mistake. I got myself into a major pain cycle.Hang in there Harry,

Russ It's legal for medicinal purposes in Illinois, and would help with the pain (not make it go away, it makes it bearable) appetite, as I know you're not eating, and help with sleep........ You could do like Homer Simpson and get a Doctor prescribed Bong!

Ace-Garageguy Posted August 23, 2016 Posted August 23, 2016 I hope you get some pain relief soon. I would think that short-term pain-mediation would be your doctor's primary and immediate concern...figure out what the cause is after the primary symptom, the pain, is dealt with.Chronic pain is stressful, obviously, and more stress hormones going into your blood stream just compound the problem. Both chronic pain and lack of sleep can lead to depression, and in my case lately, often make it impossible to get in a full day's work.Really, I hope you feel better very very soon.
Harry P. Posted August 23, 2016 Author Posted August 23, 2016 The results of m MRI are inconclusive. The doc said he couldn't see anything particularly wrong... so this afternoon at 5pm I have to get another one, this time from a different angle. At least this time I'll know what to expect, and all those clanging and jackhammer noises won't freak me out like they did on the last one.
Harry P. Posted August 24, 2016 Author Posted August 24, 2016 Got the second MRI done earlier today. Just as creepy and noisy as the first one. Now the lab will send the images and their written analysis to the orthopedist, who will go over their findings and the images and make his diagnosis. Then I will see him in a day or two to learn the bad news.Boy, life sucks right now.

Gotta agree with Bill. Your doctor needs to find something to help with the pain. Its been long enough you've gotten into a pain cycle it makes it hard to get control of the pain, I know becuase I had a similar problem with siatica.
10thumbs Posted August 24, 2016 Posted August 24, 2016 I hope all goes well for you.About the noise, don't they offer headphones with a music of your choice, radio station? The last years I've had acquaintance with the tubes, various areas. The headphones are great!
