Pity they won't ship to Australia

have it shipped to someone that you know in the states, and have them send it to you. I am in Canada and they do not ship to me, so when ever I ordered I had it sent to a buddy in Indy, and he sent it to me. Shipping will be a bit more because it has to be shipped and labelled as HazMat.

My local hobby shop is the Canadian distributor , I'm pretty sure he'll ship it to you. I don't think the prices will be quite as low as on the Scale Finishes website though.

There's a link to his shop at the bottom of the Scale Finishes home page.

All they list is either a base ( you HAVE to clear it ) or is enamel. I didn't see anything listed as lacquer ( personal preference )

The base is lacquer based vs enamel based. Yes it needs to be cleared, it is not your conventional one step lacquer that you color sand and polish if you want to. My personal preference was lacquer, but after trying the base, I won't go back, I love it. Coverage is amazing, dries fast, then once you spray the 2k clear your done or you can sand and polish like lacquer. No waiting for enamels to dry (do they ever really dry?) or for your lacquer to dry and shrink (I have polished lacquers too soon only to find they dulled a bit after they fully dried weeks later, having to polish it again)

For more than a year, I have been requesting that Jameston mix all my colors in base, even '50s and '60s colors.

The base is the lacquer,  base coat lacquer paints are not gloss, you have to clear them, that is why they are called a two part system, base + clear.

I'm well aware WHY they're  called a base coat . Some of the builds i have planned are non metallic and I prefer to NOT clear them if I can get away with it. ( again,,,personal preference )

If all I had planned was metallic colors ( I clear them all ) this sale would be a good, but as it stands I'll just have my paints mixed locally.
