StevenGuthmiller Posted September 1, 2016 Posted September 1, 2016 I'm deep into my '69 Coronet R/T build & I had a suggestion from another member about doing a 2-tone interior. The interior will be an overall dark green & the member suggested a lighter green accent color for the seats & door panels. It sounded like a good idea just to break up that "monotone" effect.Especially with an interior that is not an especially attractive color to start with. But I can find no photographic evidence that such an interior treatment ever existed in a Coronet R/T.Can anyone shed a little light on whether or not a 2-tone interior was available in this car? Thanks! Steve
moparfarmer Posted September 1, 2016 Posted September 1, 2016 Not in green or any other color other than with white..With white you could have green,blue,tan,black...The carpets, front kick panels, package tray, console and dash. Steering wheel was color and so was the upper metal part on the door panels, as was the metal part on the lower part..The rest was white including the headliner..Seat belts were colored...Had a 69 Sport Satellite with tan and white interior..

Jon Haigwood Posted September 1, 2016 Posted September 1, 2016 consider black with wood grain accents , found one on ebay and a two tone green Super Bee on youtube
StevenGuthmiller Posted September 1, 2016 Author Posted September 1, 2016 consider black with wood grain accents , found one on ebay and a two tone green Super Bee on youtubeThe interior has already been painted the dark green, & I'm sticking with that.I will be doing the wood grain accents, but I was just curious about a green 2-tone treatment.Do you happen to have the link to the one on Youtube? Steve
RichCostello Posted September 1, 2016 Posted September 1, 2016 I owned a 69 Super Bee back in the early 70s. The body was bright yellow, and it had a 2 tone green vinyl interior(bench seat). Neither green was real dark, more of a light olive color with a slightly lighter green on the seat panels, and door panel trim.Rich
Casey Posted September 1, 2016 Posted September 1, 2016 This is no guarantee that everything shown was 100% true in production, but it's a good starting point: http://www.hamtramck-historical.com/dealerships/1969ColorAndTrim-03.shtml
IHSS Posted September 1, 2016 Posted September 1, 2016 I know they changed from year to year , but I have a 71 plymouth in my back yard with a 2 tone green interior. Its a dark olive with the seat inserts in a lighter shade of green. I can try and take a couple of pics if you would like to see it.
gtx6970 Posted September 1, 2016 Posted September 1, 2016 I think only bench seat interiors had tje 2 tone in like colors. Bucket seat interiors had the option of white vinyl portions (seats and door panels ) with a 2nd contrasting interior color to compliment the exterior color
High octane Posted September 1, 2016 Posted September 1, 2016 You can also check with Legendary Interiors as they offer seat cover and door panel replacements for Mopars, and check the colors they offer.

tim boyd Posted September 1, 2016 Posted September 1, 2016 The Hamtramck Registry has images from the Dodge dealer showroom Color and Trim Selector including color images of interior configurations (seats/door panels) and all upholstery samples/choices for most 1960's and early 1970's offerings. It's a great resource for projects like this. And kudos to you Steve for choosing an interior color other than just the oft-seen solid black, or white with black, interior color combos......Tim

StevenGuthmiller Posted September 2, 2016 Author Posted September 2, 2016 I just want to thank everybody for their input. I knew, without a doubt, that the great guys on this forum would come through for me again! At this point, as I'm seeing no evidence of a 2-tone combo being available with a bucket seat interior on the '69 Coronet, I've made the decision to go with basically all green. A few variations in color will be added for a little contrast, but in general it will be fairly monotone & I'll let the wood grain & the chrome trim do the job of breaking it up. Thanks so much everyone! Steve
