Modlbldr Posted September 15, 2016 Posted September 15, 2016 I have been working on this one for quite some time now and the finish line is within sight. I have a terrible habit of starting a WIP and then something goes wrong or I lose interest. I told myself that I was not going to lose interest in this one and that I would finish it. Since that was the case, it has fought me with the paint job the entire time. I have spent over $40 buying 6 cans of Tamiya paint to get this painted. I have stripped the body three times and the hood 5 times! This time, however, I think I have won out. Here is my inspiration. http:// I chopped the top, pancaked the hood, molded in the hood vents from the Rat Roaster kit as taillights and installed skirts from the 36 Ford to name a few of the mods. Here are the progress photos I took along the way. http:// http:// http:// http:// http://http:// http:// Hopefully I will be able to get the interior and chassis in and the mirrors and door handles on by this weekend and FINALLY wrap this one up. Comments and criticisms welcomed. Later-
GMCMAN52 Posted September 15, 2016 Posted September 15, 2016 I like it, nice job on what you have so far
cobraman Posted September 15, 2016 Posted September 15, 2016 I like it too. Interior looks real nice.
thatz4u Posted September 15, 2016 Posted September 15, 2016 NOT a run of the mill leadsled, different approach, like this one, may try one someday, which kit did you start with?
Ace-Garageguy Posted September 15, 2016 Posted September 15, 2016 Pretty cool. You rarely see these built as customs, and they have very nice lines for it...kinda like slightly scaled-down Zephyrs. Good clean work on that pancaked hood too.
John Pol Posted September 15, 2016 Posted September 15, 2016 Great job so far what do you use for body filler
Modlbldr Posted September 16, 2016 Author Posted September 16, 2016 Thanks for all the nice comments.I used the Revell Pro Street kit as a starting point. As a filler I use Bondo brand Glazing putty in the squeeze tube. I have a posting in the Wanted section for some Flame Arrester style air cleaners (I think that is what they are). If anybody has what I have pictured (or something similar), I would love to trade for them.Later-
Modlbldr Posted September 17, 2016 Author Posted September 17, 2016 Well, I finished this one today but because Photobucket has been a PITA today and will not upload my photos, I have nothing to show. Has anyone else experienced problems.with PB today giving errors when.loading photos? I have been trying since noon today. It continues to tell me that my photos are backed up but won't upload any new ones.Later-
