GLMFAA1 Posted October 1, 2016 Posted October 1, 2016 Had a little fun remembering things with the current threads, I scanned some of my old directions in search of the stuffed animals, ended up with trailers, odds and ends.Do you remember ''NoTox', or 'Thermal plastic'? There is a post card membership application for a model club that was like a record club, did anyone belong?take a graze down some nostalgiagreg http://public.fotki.com/GLMFAA1/follow-the-directions/
Snake45 Posted October 1, 2016 Posted October 1, 2016 Those were cool! I have or HAVE had at one time about a third of those. Good times! Thanks for sharing that!
unclescott58 Posted October 1, 2016 Posted October 1, 2016 Fun stuff. By the way is the mascot/stuffed animal with the '63 Pontiac a skunk?!
Draggon Posted October 2, 2016 Posted October 2, 2016 Yea my parents made me use no-tox. Slathering it on did nothing to increase it's ability to hold parts together.
GLMFAA1 Posted October 2, 2016 Author Posted October 2, 2016 Fun stuff. By the way is the mascot/stuffed animal with the '63 Pontiac a skunk?! I guess it would depend on how it was painted, Squirrel or skunk?greg
ChrisBcritter Posted October 2, 2016 Posted October 2, 2016 Note the Mannlicher rifle in the '63 Imperial - isn't that what Lee Harvey Oswald used?
Snake45 Posted October 2, 2016 Posted October 2, 2016 Note the Mannlicher rifle in the '63 Imperial - isn't that what Lee Harvey Oswald used? Not really. That's a Mannlicher sporting rifle, and LHO used a military surplus Carcano. Very little if any relationship between the two.
slusher Posted October 2, 2016 Posted October 2, 2016 Some really neat stuff. Does any of the stuff still exist in any other kits present day?
jack lira Posted October 3, 2016 Posted October 3, 2016 Note the Mannlicher rifle in the '63 Imperial - isn't that what Lee Harvey Oswald used?
jack lira Posted October 3, 2016 Posted October 3, 2016 if you look next to the rifle is a sword the only thing better is the 1/25 clear whiskey shot glasses in the 64 Continental HT
Snake45 Posted October 3, 2016 Posted October 3, 2016 if you look next to the rifle is a sword the only thing better is the 1/25 clear whiskey shot glasses in the 64 Continental HT It was a simpler, happier time.
1930fordpickup Posted October 3, 2016 Posted October 3, 2016 Smells like lemon sticks like crazy! LOL
torinobradley Posted October 3, 2016 Posted October 3, 2016 I was in that mail order model club. After the first model that I got to pick, everything went to pot. I built only cars then and got Lunar Lander set (not interested at that time), commercial jet liner (not interested at that time), and I think a Viking ship (not interested at that time). After that, I just went to the hobby store and got what I wanted...
pharoah Posted October 3, 2016 Posted October 3, 2016 I love the artwork in the old AMT kits.It had a certain look to it.

slusher Posted October 4, 2016 Posted October 4, 2016 Oh, me too. And especially the box art from 1966 to 1969. I always liked the count down kit box art..
