Just got this yesterday.

I've been excited about this one for awhile so I dove right in. First impression, an extremely well done kit. Bravo Revell. The engineering on it is great, much better than the C6.R, the fit and finish is much higher and the level of detail is also much higher. Another great thing is the ride height, the C5.R was aweful, the C6.R, not bad, but the C7.R looks perfect.

(Sorry, this one's a little blurry)

Another nice feature on the version of the race car is the interior tub. Much more molded in detail. No cheesy molded in seat belts. There is a lot of detail to highlight for those that want to. And more than enough for those that just want some thing that looks realistic without a lot of effort.

The body portions look good and the shape looks spot on to me.

There are minimal mold lines on the outside of the body so clean up and prep shouldn't be very time consuming. They're still using the metal axles, which isnt terrible, but a full suspension kit would of been awesome for detailing the car up on jacks. I plan on doing this one with the wheels on the ground anyways, so its not that big of a deal, but I do plan on another kit down the road and I'll have to make my own suspension at that point to have it up off the ground with the wheels off.

The only real gripe I have at this point, I've only mocked the body/chassis up at this point to check the ride height, was the chassis plate itself. Yep, I got another warped chassis. Everything else looks good thus far, but the chassis, bagged with some other parts was bagged before being completely cooled and the pressure of the other parts in the bag caused it to bow. Revell really needs to get on their quality control at the manufacture point, there's been way too many issues over the past years. I'm sure everyone has gotten at least one of these. I'm up to like 4 now, Ferrari 458, Porsche 918 x2 (plus the warped replacement for the second one) and now the Corvette. Now, mine isnt terrible, hence all the tape in the photos, I'm trying to straighten it back out some. Once I attach the interior tub to the chassis plate it should be pretty straight, but if you buy one of these, check your chassis plates.

(The tires are sticking out due to the tape I used to try and bend the warped chassis plate back, but without the tape they look correct.)

I started on the motor and some other parts, but nothing worth taking pictures of yet. All in all, a nice race car. Gravity Colors has the correct Corvette Racing Yellow now, so order for that going out soon.

Comments and Criticisms always welcome.

Cool!  Had no idea this kit even existed......need to get one of these!

Not normally a Corevette guy, but love the C7.  Can't wait to see what you do with this one.

Looking forward to more. Are you going to request a new chassis?

No, not this time around. Its only bowed inwards, up from the bottom a small amount. Once I glue the interior tub to the chassis is should straighten out. The chassis on my 918 was bent up, like the Corvette, but it was also twisted so I contacted Revell for a replacement.

It's a really nice kit. Basic in the sense that there isnt a lot of parts, but the detail that is there is quite good. I plan on doing it it mostly OOB, but I will add some more CF decals and maybe some wiring on the interior tub for the electronics. I think I might weather it too, post race look.

Yup - will be following this build for sure.  LOVE the post race look, with the dirt, grime, bugs, and chuncks of rubber.

I think this was just released last weekend. I am also not a huge fan of Corvettes, but any Le Mans car interests me. I personally think the box art could have been better, but I am really looking forward to this kit. The wheels appear to be correctly sized, bravo Revell!!

Fixed the chassis pan. Glued it to the interior tub and its straight now. Stuck at this stage while I wait for my paint to arrive from Gravity Colors. With hurricane Matthew it looks like post out of Florida is really slow as they get back to normal. My order was shipped on the 8th and it just left Miami yesterday afternoon at 1pm. Any ways, couple mock up shots. Nothing more to report till I can paint.

Hopefully I can get some colour on it this week.

I just got one last weekend. Very nice kit. I would like to see if after market decals come out for the French Labre team competing in the FIAWEC series.

Skill level 4?

With 64 parts?

Revell re-calibrated their skill levels a year or two ago.....level 1 are the snappys w/ 5 parts or so...;)
