Modelbuilder Mark Posted October 7, 2016 Posted October 7, 2016 this will be a cool but difficult project for sure
horsepower Posted October 7, 2016 Posted October 7, 2016 (edited) You can get the one headlight front fender either from an early fifties resin or wait till Revell releases the Foose Eldorod kit it has the correct style, the left rear can come from around a '67 Eldorado, the right rear from a '64, the top CAN be made using the half top from the AMT '50 Ford Convertible kit, the left front fender from the Ecto 1 Ghostbusters kit, the hood from one of the Johan Hearse or ambulances, I'm out of ideas for now, but I'll be thinking about it and checking in to see how it's going. I saw Johnny and June do this in person and they played the video on a big screen OF the real car, it was just after they were given the "PsychoBilly Cadillac". Edited October 7, 2016 by horsepower
Dogfish_7 Posted October 7, 2016 Posted October 7, 2016 Certainly a very original idea and I wish you well in your attempt to acquire all the parts it's going to take. Going to be one very expensive build for sure. Good Luck! I'll be watching with interest as well.
gtx6970 Posted October 7, 2016 Posted October 7, 2016 Very cool, And NOT going to be an easy OR cheap build to do I know the song well. And now its gonna be in my head for the rest of the day ( Not a bad thing though )
carman1 Posted October 7, 2016 Posted October 7, 2016 I will be following along, this will be neat to see, now I too have that song in my head !

ChrisBcritter Posted October 7, 2016 Posted October 7, 2016 I think the car they built started out as a '68; the hood, doors, windshield and decklid give it away, along with the shape of the side windows (although one side is two-door and one side is four-door). So you can start with the Jo-Han '68. Rear bumper and right taillight are '63, with a '61 fin added. Driver's side rear door looks like it was reskinned with part of a '57-'58 door.
CometMan Posted October 7, 2016 Posted October 7, 2016 Very cool idea! Like everyone else has said, this won't be easy, cheap, or fast!
Ron Hamilton Posted October 7, 2016 Posted October 7, 2016 Now this one is going to be interesting. I am a Cadillac nut, having built quite, a few, and having several in the queue to be finished. I have included photos of kits that could be used to do the car. Looking at the black and white photo that Ron Gross posted, the main body is a '65-66 Deville Convertible , but in the color photos, one side shows a '67-8 Sedan De Ville, and the other side a '67-8 Coupe de Ville, with the sail panels and doors from each, the hood from a '71-6 Eldorado , the left rear fender tip from a '67-8 Eldorado , The left front fender and left rear bumper tip from a '63-4 right side bumper tip, the trunk and right fender from a '63 De Ville (no pics). The rest of the car seems to be from mid 50's Cadillacs, and other custom parts. An exact replica of this one would be truly time and labor intensive, and truly expensive, but the way you are approaching it will give the essence of the real car, and could be quite interesting. Go for it!!!

dwc43 Posted October 8, 2016 Posted October 8, 2016 I saw that black Caddy when it used to sit outside in front of Johnny's house when I was a kid. There was no walls or gates or anything. My dad drive up in this circular drive and we looked but did not get out of the car. It was parked in the grass beside the drive in his front lawn.
