unclescott58 Posted October 24, 2016 Posted October 24, 2016 (edited) Okay, yesterday afternoon I decided to try applying Revell's Red Line tire decals to a set of Revell's tires. Both the decals and tires were from Revell's wonderful 1967 Corvette roadster kit. I hate those darn decals. I don't know if I've ever been able to get a set of them on four tires in a row with any success. The first tire I went to do yesterday, went down perfect. A little adjustment. But, not a major problem. It look good. The second tire? Nothing but disaster. And more I tryed to fix it the worst it got! Somehow the decal ends up twisting, and refuses to untwist and lay down flat. ?I hate Revell tires in general. I can get the wide white decals on their tires with no problems. I don't like them as well as tampo printed wide whites. But, they're okay. The Red Lines? I don't think I've ever gotten a successful set done? Does anybody out there have any suggestions? Has anybody ever gotten them to work? Edited October 24, 2016 by unclescott58
crazyjim Posted October 24, 2016 Posted October 24, 2016 I've used red line decals only once. What a pain in the butt to get centered half way accurately.
Modelbuilder Mark Posted October 24, 2016 Posted October 24, 2016 I have yet to use them, but to be honest, I am not very good at decals to begin with, so I am not looking forward to it.
randyc Posted October 24, 2016 Posted October 24, 2016 I have a LOT of decal sheets with 3 stripe decals left because the first one was sucha a FAIL.
timc Posted October 28, 2016 Posted October 28, 2016 AMT redline tire parts pack. I dont know if they will fit the monogram wheels though. This is just a suggestion not intended to offend or make anyone mad.

gtx6970 Posted October 30, 2016 Posted October 30, 2016 Tried them once. That was all it took. Now they just go in the trash can
Can-Con Posted October 30, 2016 Posted October 30, 2016 I've never done it but a friend told me he floats the decal in a large bowl of water and brings the tire up to it from underneath. Seems like it should work.
