I did finish it yesterday but due to the actual Halloween ,,,,I  couldn't take pics till this morning .

Anyway ,,,,,, after a few minor setbacks and outside of a few very minor touch ups this one is done and headed to the case. I picked it up at Ollies a few weeks back and decided I needed to build one,,just for something different .

Built almost 100% box stock , ,  Kit comes with  wide whites,,,and I used them  on another build . So I decided to substitute some parts box tires on the front.

Painted Testors Flaming orange which is a real heavy metallic . with multiple coats of wet look clear that just shines. No polishing needed . Interior is Testors orange with Duplicolor semi gloss black .

I cant decide if I want to do the BMF to the rocker trim or not,,,so for now it stays orange. If I had been thinking ahead of time I would have sanded it off like I did the rest of the trim and emblems. I like the roof in all orange so there will be no trim highlighted on it.

Thanks for looking and comments good or bad more than welcome.

A happy fun Retro build...what's not to like?

I especially like your interior. I've been working on a semi-custom '57 T-bird that will be black. Been looking for an interior color for it that will really "pop," as the kids say. I think you just gave me the answer. B)

I went back and forth on the interior. Actually painted it like 5 or 6 times, all orange , orange and white, a couple different tans ( even a 2 tone tan ) Finally settled on the orange and black and I think it fits the car quite well. Same here I wanted POP and not the same old same old. The dash is actually painted with Testors Fiery Orange which is a slightly different shade than the body and not the same as the seat inserts just to give the interior  a little bit of flare .

I just picked up this same kit a few weeks ago, it looked cool on the box.

After seeing it done, i am now looking forward to building it, great job man..

Thanks all.

A couple things I would change if I had it to do over.

1 - Remove the molded in rocker panel trim, as well as the trim surrounding the interior bucket ( I did sand the emblems off the side coves and the above the grille .)

2nd -  I would fill the slots in the back of the car below the tail lights , That way I could leave the rear  bumpers off. I liked it better with no rear bumpers but the empty slots wasn't going to cut it .

as a build note, I did shorten the stubs on the rear wheel inner halves where the axle goes in to narrow the rear trak a bit to bring the rear tires in under the car. . I also added some pieces of styrene on top of the wheelhouse to act as a spacer to lift the body  up just a tad to clear the tops of the tires,,otherwise the tires wanted to rub the top of the  wheel opening .

Overall its pretty easy kit to do and I REALLY like it . even with the issues this kit has.
