donb Posted November 2, 2016 Posted November 2, 2016 Built this Box Stock. I wanted to replicate a car I saw at a cruise in in NY state a few summers ago. Finally got around to building it. After assembling the car I realized I did not attach the front window correctly and the window vents and top would not line up correctly, but the rest of the build came out pretty decent. Not a contest winner but looks great on the shelf. Exterior Paint is Testors Deja Blue. Interior Paint is Model Master Leather. Chrome is Alclad Here is the inspiration Here is the Model I'll Post a few with the top up ,even though it doesn't line up well.
Ace-Garageguy Posted November 2, 2016 Posted November 2, 2016 Great gloss. And everything but the up-top, as you already noted, fits well and looks very clean. Nice work.
CometMan Posted November 2, 2016 Posted November 2, 2016 Nice job! Haven't seen a stock one for a while.
donb Posted November 2, 2016 Author Posted November 2, 2016 Thanks for the kind words Ray, Bill, Stephen, Tom and Marty. I appreciate it.
stavanzer Posted November 2, 2016 Posted November 2, 2016 Man, it looks great. I don't normally like stock builds, but this one is sharp.I hope my own build of this kit, comes out looking as good as yours did.

donb Posted November 3, 2016 Author Posted November 3, 2016 What happened to the vent windows? After assembling the car I realized I did not attach the front window correctly and the window vents and top would not line up correctly. So I left the vent windows off.
donb Posted November 4, 2016 Author Posted November 4, 2016 Carl, Bo and Troy - Thanks for looking in and commenting. Appreciate it.
Modelbuilder Mark Posted November 12, 2016 Posted November 12, 2016 Nice clean build, by Dad owned a '49 (in the 50's) and the again from the mid 70's until about 10 years ago when he gave it to my younger brother. I think he is planning on rebuilding it someday.
