Jmaracing Posted November 7, 2016 Posted November 7, 2016 Looks awesome Troy.. What color is that? It looks great.
carman1 Posted November 7, 2016 Author Posted November 7, 2016 Looks awesome Troy.. What color is that? It looks great. Thanks Joe, The paint is Model Master Nassau blue straight out of a rattle can.
espo Posted November 7, 2016 Posted November 7, 2016 Great looking build. I like the way you detailed the hub caps, just like the 1:1.
peekay Posted November 7, 2016 Posted November 7, 2016 Still a nice kit after all these years and you did a great job on it!
kelson Posted November 8, 2016 Posted November 8, 2016 Think this is the first time I've seen someone use the optional parts in the 53' kit to build it as a 54',great job!!
carman1 Posted November 11, 2016 Author Posted November 11, 2016 Thanks for the kind words everyone, I had fun building this old kit, Ive got a few more
Harry P. Posted November 11, 2016 Posted November 11, 2016 Very nice, but one thing I'm noticing is that you didn't clean up the area where the parts were attached to the sprues. You left rough spots or "nubs" there. I see it on the air cleaner covers, the steering wheel, the windshield header, the inside rear-view mirror, etc.
carman1 Posted November 11, 2016 Author Posted November 11, 2016 (edited) No excuses, I did not notice the steering wheel or the mirror, my eyes aren't what they once were, but every time I touched the chrome on this kit a little more came off Edited November 11, 2016 by carman1
bbowser Posted November 11, 2016 Posted November 11, 2016 Well done. Don't see many C1 Corvettes in scale.
Sport Suburban Posted November 12, 2016 Posted November 12, 2016 Very nice! I just finished a 53 and have a 54 planned in pennant blue just like yours!
stavanzer Posted November 12, 2016 Posted November 12, 2016 As everyone else has said, Outstanding work. That colour works well on that kit.
