What would you have in your perfect world? For example, in my perfect world Round 2 would re-issue the AMT 71 Duster but they would also include the Slant 6 from the Lindberg 64 Dodge and Plymouth kits. Then I would have 2 of my favorite Mopar engines in one readily available kit. I could rob one engine and still build the kit or I could use the body on a Nascar or Pro-stock, or Pro-street chassis and still have a complete chassis with choice of engines for the AMT 69 Barracuda or any number of resin bodies.

Also in my perfect world I would be able to order OEM paints in spray cans or for airbrush easily from a web site without having to use pay-pal, money orders, or hand written, mail in order forms. I know most of the venders are small operations run by people like me that struggle with computers but I tend to order most of my stuff when I am at sea and I'm not able to get a money order or willing to drop an order into an overseas mailbox.

Let us know what your perfect world looks like.

In my perfect world I'd still have a local hobby shop carrying the complete 1960s displays of AMT, Pactra, Testor, and Humbrol paints. If they could still be at 1969 prices that would be even more perfect.

Great comments guys!

How about being a kid again from the 50's, and marvelling at all the new models on the shelves at the hobby shop?  Planes, Navy ships and cool car models.

Fitment issues and complaints, not back then.  Things were the way they were supposed to be.

I gotta put my flame suit on so here goes........ ;)

1) Round 2 would fix the horrendously inaccurate '58 Plymouth Belvedere.
2) All of Johan's released tooling out of the '60's would turn up in pristine shape somewhere.
3) More releases of modern day "everyday" cars would turn up on hobby shelves----you take your pick of what those are.

I could probably list a few more, but those three came to mind.

In my perfect world I'd have a workshop full of skilled model car technicians who would finish all the kits I start!    :P

Yeah, I can't argue with that Tom! Not enough hours in the day, and as time marches on.........not as many years to finish 'em all! :P

I'll have to apologize up front, but if I lived in a perfect world I wouldn't be building model cars, I'd be building the real thing! :D

In fact, I recently answered this question a while back when I was asked what I would like "heaven" to be like.  As strange as this may sound I would love to have a complete auto and machine shop. And be able to order brand new parts for cars and trucks from the 20's to the 60's. I would personally focus on only a few specific models from various eras and probably build a few of each. When I tell people this they often ask, why not just have them delivered ready to drive away?  Clearly they don't understand.

Building things from the ground up is my passion. :D

I would also have a Woodmizer sawmill, a complete woodshop, and a forest full of great trees,  I would build my own house from scratch too!  I would also like to have stuff to make my own concrete.  Oh yeah, a metal furnace for casting model train parts out of aluminum and bronze.  I would still continue to build model G-scale railroads to put in my yard around my wooden house. I suppose it would be cool to have G-scale model cars to build too.  Or maybe the trains could built to 1/24 scale.  I'll have to think about that one.  I keep forgetting that this is a "perfect world" we're talking about.

Where's Santa Claus?  I want to put in my order right now.  I'll need at least 100 acres of land near a small tranquil lake since I'll be building wooden boats too.  Oh yeah, I also need at least a 1000-year extension on my lifespan too (possibly with a renewal clause when the 1000 years is up). And since this is a "Perfect World" I'll assume great health is automatic. :D

Thanks for asking.  I'm looking forward to this dream coming true!

Dear Santa,

Mine would involve winning the Lottery, Mega Million, and Kansas Cash. Then I could do what ever I wanted, drive what ever I wanted and live where ever I wanted. I would stay married to my bride of over 30 years because it just doesn't get any better than that.

You, sir, are a very lucky man. You've already won way more than any lottery could possibly give you.

Truly! :D

I forgot to mention my robotics laboratory in my letter to Santa!

And oh, yeah, the ten wives:

Just use your imagination for the other six.  May as well round it off to an even ten wives.  This way each one only has to do only 1/10th as much housework. (hee hee)

Gotta keep em happy! :D

I guess at some level we have all wished this at some time or another. At this point in time I'll just be happy taking care of my home work as they say. Trust me when I say handling more than one at a time can be very trying, and if they ever get together they tend to become a very vindictive and not very understanding, just saying.

Wow, we've come a long way from "What ONE KIT would you like to build?" haven't we? And I thought I was pushing the envelope with my 9-Camaro set or '69 Chevy dealership diorama ideas....B):D

Pretty sure that was another thread.

The opening line here was: "What would you have in your perfect world?"

Ah, you're right. My bad.

A perfect world would be devoid of desires, so listing what I would "want" in a perfect world would mean it isn't.

But I assume this is more of a "in a really fun, extravagant, model themed world where our desires are more easliy filled" type of thread :)

It would be cool, in that world, to have a choice of all the engines ever produced. Kits, detailed versions, of all of them including speed parts, etc...

Hey I'm trying to imagine a "Perfect World" and you're bursting my bubble with the hardcore facts of reality. :D

And besides, whilst I'm not a religious person God did come to me in a dream once and she's the one who said that she would fix me up with ten wives in the afterlife.  I argued with her because I'm actually quite monogamous minded.  I told her that I would actually rather have just one devoted wife.  She said, it's not a problem.  She can simply give one woman ten physical bodies that she can simultaneously live in.  With God all things are possible. B)

So everything is cool.  I'll have one wife who exists in ten different bodies all at the same time.

I realize that I started out writing a letter to Santa Claus and this is probably beyond his capabilities so perhaps I'll have to write the Goddess a letter:

Dear Goddess,

I would like,....

(actually she's omniscient and already knows what I like so the letter would be redundant anyway.)  It was her idea for the ten-bodied wife anyway.  Honest!

I hope that works out for you.

I had one once who had at least 10 different personalities living in her head, and 9 of them were demons.   :)

A 1/2" mile high bank dirt track would be in my back yard ( think Earl Baltes here folks). I would have a stable of wingless sprintcars for me and my friends. Jesse Hocket and Brian Clauson would both still be alive and teaching me how to drive one of those beasts!

Yeah, that's a lot easier to arrange but very difficult to live with. :D

That's why I prefer the ten-body monogamy thing. B)

Just one nice girl I can trust.
