Xingu Posted December 18, 2016 Posted December 18, 2016 (edited) These are the models that I have finished in 2016 after returning back to the hobby after taking several decades off. I have more patience now and my model building skills continue to improve (slowly). I have learned an awful lot from this forum and am glad I found it. Have made many model building friends, even though I have met very few of them in person. Looking forward to 2107! AMT 1941 Plymouth Tamiya Mitsubishi GTO Tamiya Porsche 959 Monogram 1970 Superbird Monogram 1969 Dodge Super Bee AMT 1971 Dodge Charger - I was home sick and highly medicated when I built this one. Nothing fit well and I repainted the body 4 times after messing up the black in the door gills. Finally just left them white. This one will be displayed on a back shelf. bbowser Posted December 18, 2016 Posted December 18, 2016 Nice clean building style on them all. I'm partial to the '41 and the Superbird.
DumpyDan Posted December 18, 2016 Posted December 18, 2016 Someone had a very good year, way to be productive.
tbill Posted December 18, 2016 Posted December 18, 2016 great looking group, absolutely love the super bee
espo Posted December 19, 2016 Posted December 19, 2016 Beautiful builds. Hard to pick favorites, but the early Plymouth and the Super Bee are the most appealing to me.
JerseyRed Posted December 19, 2016 Posted December 19, 2016 I'm with everyone else all are super clean. Even your "back of the shelf" model is pretty darn good"!
Xingu Posted December 21, 2016 Author Posted December 21, 2016 Thanks for the kind words. I enjoy building, I find it very relaxing. I don't get to upset if things don't turn out as planned, so even my poor looking models are a sucess. I can always start rebuilding the early builds when the stash runs dry.
PARTSMARTY Posted December 21, 2016 Posted December 21, 2016 They all look awesome-especially the 41 and coronet-congrats.
Xingu Posted December 24, 2016 Author Posted December 24, 2016 Decided to clean another one off my bench. Finished it this morning. MPC 1974 Plymouth Road Runner
Dodge Driver Posted December 24, 2016 Posted December 24, 2016 Really sharp Road Runner! I like how the chassis turned out using the overspray technique.
D. Battista Posted December 25, 2016 Posted December 25, 2016 A nice collection of well built models....!
DeeCee Posted January 2, 2017 Posted January 2, 2017 Thanks for the kind words. I enjoy building, I find it very relaxing. I don't get to upset if things don't turn out as planned, so even my poor looking models are a sucess. I can always start rebuilding the early builds when the stash runs dry. This is what modeling is for me too, RELAXING after a hard days work... and i do the same, rebuild those that did not turn out how i wanted, either when the stash runs low, or because you have learnt more since you built it.. Some great variety and some good results there for the year mate, now we start again..
