Joe Handley Posted December 29, 2016 Posted December 29, 2016 Just heard she passed, only a few days left before 2017 comes in.
mikemodeler Posted December 29, 2016 Posted December 29, 2016 Sad to hear, gotta think the sudden death of her daughter was partly to blame.
NYLIBUD Posted December 29, 2016 Author Posted December 29, 2016 Definitely sad.I guess she couldn't handle the loss of her daughter.
MrObsessive Posted December 29, 2016 Posted December 29, 2016 Sad to hear, gotta think the sudden death of her daughter was partly to blame. That's the first thing I thought the moment I saw the story. Wow.........so many have gone this year.
Snake45 Posted December 29, 2016 Posted December 29, 2016 Sad to hear, gotta think the sudden death of her daughter was partly to blame.Yeah, I wasn't the least bit surprised.
mikemodeler Posted December 29, 2016 Posted December 29, 2016 According to news reports, Debbie was very despondent over Carrie's sudden death and suffered a massive stroke at her son's house while discussing funeral plans. While not always newsworthy as it doesn't always include celebrities, this type of death of a parent, child or spouse following the death of a loved one isn't uncommon.
10thumbs Posted December 29, 2016 Posted December 29, 2016 I cannot imagine the grief of a parent learning of their child's death.

How many times have you read how a husband or wife died hours after their loved one passed on after being together for so many years.
mikemodeler Posted December 30, 2016 Posted December 30, 2016 6 weeks after my father passed away, my mother had a series of minor strokes. They had been married 68 years and 11 months at the time of his passing. She hung on for another 18 months but eventually passed away after a massive stroke. I prefer to think she died of a broken heart because I talked to her everyday after my father's funeral up until she could no longer talk and every conversation included how much she missed him and wanted to be together again in heaven.
Rodent Posted December 30, 2016 Posted December 30, 2016 She was a very talented and beautiful person when she was young. I don't know the rest of her story, but I saw her in Tahoe in 1988. She seemed drunk or drugged during her performance. The singing was not good and her attempt at comedy was worse. She talked a lot about Carrie even then. Perhaps she was living vicariously through her even then. We have lost far too many talented people this year. RIP Debbie and Carrie.
