yellowsportwagon Posted January 9, 2017 Posted January 9, 2017 (edited) This is a MPC Torino on an AMT Thundirbird chassis. Boss 429 engine from a Polar Lights Talladega. The body was modified to better represent this car. The fuel filler was moved to the right side as this car ran at Riverside.I cut the rear spoiler off and modified it to lean back further. The headlight block off and screened Opening on the left frt were also switched . Scratchbuilt Frt spoiler , air cleaner , headrest , and bumper fairings and fillers were also added. PPP wheels and Powerslide decals. Custom mixed dark blue and white paint. Added some camber to both frt wheels for that vintage road racer look. Also added drip rail moldings that MPC left off for some odd reason. Edited January 9, 2017 by yellowsportwagon
afx Posted January 9, 2017 Posted January 9, 2017 Really nice work Tim. Did Unser have to run the yellow rookie bumper?
yellowsportwagon Posted January 9, 2017 Author Posted January 9, 2017 Really nice work Tim. Did Unser have to run the yellow rookie bumper?I guess so but this car only raced the one race at Riverside. It was sold and tucked away after that for I think about 18 years. The car now does vintage races with almost all of its originalpaint still intact.
FordRodnKustom Posted July 4, 2017 Posted July 4, 2017 Outstanding! Very authentic details. Just an impressive build all around. Well done.
waynehulsey Posted July 5, 2017 Posted July 5, 2017 Really nice. Have seen the car several times and you really have it down.
